In this Mexico travel vlog, I take a ferry from Cancun to the tropical Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres. This lovely little island is considered a Pueblo Mágico (aka “Magic Town”), a designation given to certain places in Mexico that offer visitors a unique and special experience.

In the case of Isla Mujeres, these are some of the special things you can enjoy on the island:
– Crystal clear Caribbean sea waters in every shade of blue, turquoise, and aqua you can imagine
– White sand beaches
– Mouthwatering seafood like the meal I had at Marbella
– Friendly iguanas and other wildlife
– Charming accommodations, like the seafront hotel I stayed at called La Joya (https://www.hotellajoya.mx/ [email protected])
– Pedestrian-only streets for shopping, eating, and grabbing a drink
– Lots of water-based activities like kayaking, snorkeling, and boat tours

In this video, I include where to eat, stay, and what to do on Isla Mujeres so you can come and have a fun time like I did! What do you think of this Mexican island…would you travel here?

  1. Cheaper yet…. taxi from the Oxxo store across and down the street a bit from Puerto Juarez ferry terminal to ADO Centro Cancun and then take the bus… about 70 or 80 pesos taxi and around 250 bus. The taxis inside the ferry terminal are far more expensive than the ones by the Oxxo. 😉

  2. What a beautiful place! I am just curious if you kept a Total price on every expense for this trip? It really looks like one I would enjoy taking! Thanks for everything you showed here.

  3. Hi Maddi Gold! Just want to say thank you for your beautiful videos. We have been fans of yours for 2 years now. Your videos helped us before we moved to Playa del Carmen. We moved in August of 2022.
We are still watching your videos and enjoying them. We haven't had a chance to move about Mexico a lot yet because we have 5 dogs. We just wanted to drop a line and say , keep up the good work! Take care.

  4. One of my most favorite places the world! I stayed at La Jolla almost 10 years ago, the waters were a little calmer on the days we were there and floating in the highly salinated ocean and petting the manta rays beach front was pretty cool. So happy to know you found that gem of a place on Isla.

  6. Looks amazing. The food prices are really high though and that gringo pricing for the ferry is steep. I was in MX the beginning of April and I want to go back.

  7. That's so beautiful! Speaking of iguanas, here in FL, when we have an occasional freeze, the iguanas fall out of the trees. Don't worry! They come back to life when it warms up, but we have signs that say "Watch out for falling iguanas!"
