The UMP in Escape from Tarkov made me very happy because it’s one of my most favorites guns but during the last Tarkov wipe the UMP was kinda obsolete. With patch 12.12 we received the UMP suppressor and that was a big hope to get a new very decent budget weapon but it’s absolutely not. The ump with its suppressor in 12.12 is very expensive no matter is you buy it from the flea or trader. Furthermore it has some visual recoil issues and that’s a big problem with this budget build.

The budget part about the UMP is that I swear that half the people I kill this wipe have one. I have like 9 of them in my stash and haven't bought a single one. They are pretty fun to use though

Personally the UMP shreds if you’re holding aim near the groin if you’re using ACP, but the low fire rate in full auto lets you literally draw headshots so easily while putting constant fire down range. I think if you know what you’re doing with it, it will carry you through most engagements. I think it only struggles in long range

I think I have to disagree with you sir, because UMP has proved to be superior in terms of recoil and ammo, also there's a trade for it, also if you use rip ammo you pretty much kill anyone in 4 shots
If they only introduced ump-9 …
So run what instead? I kind of dislike it when videos say don't do something but don't give an alternative.
I'll run an AK-74N with BT from barters until I have more level three traders and better ammos unlocked. Not comparable though.
