The content creators like you were the reason Paul was nerfed.
Although there are a bunch of hwoarangs online you don't really learn anything cause most of them are trash.
Tekken developer's love some characters so, they won't nerf some popular characters like paul, bryan, steve, mishimas, female characters, hwo, cause new players see these guys on the cover of tekken and play these characters cause it ties to sales

I try to be very understanding of all characters, but Paul and Marduk are exceptions. I do believe that the two have issues.
I dislike Paul because I believe he has everything, where No character should do.

I think perception of the character also plays a part in the Paul question. As you play the game you'll see so many Paul doing the same unga-bunga stuff, he earns a reputation that makes people forget he's actually a really solid character.

I feel like paul is underplayed because he’s often and originally cited as a beginner character (before shaheen came to tekken 7). He’s one of the OG character that’s super easy to pick up compared to the rest of the legacy character. His fighting style is not really flashy, basic movement with raw power and strength. Once ppl start learning the basics, they tend to drop him as other char seem to offer more “flavour” in their fighting style
Most seen male characters in tournaments are: Feng, Marduk, Geese, Armor King, Heihachi, Miguel, Bryan and Claudio and somewhat Jin, Akuma, Steve and Eddy.
Female characters: Kuni, Xiaoyu, Zafina, Anna and somewhat Chloe and Katarina.
Feng and Zafina are the most played male and female imo.
Because he is only good ON PAPERS. As per knee. He is not good this season.
Here are some reasons.
1: below average combo damage from normal launchers.
2. Demoman has piss poor range. It would never connect in open play if your opponent backdash.
3. The most easiest matchup to learn. Unlike hworang which you need Time to lab.
4: his best low is minus 14 on block can be launched by some chars.
5: bad pokes. Feng or any female is way better. Pokes will hit you faster than qc moves. Which in Paul's case most of his moves are based on.
At pro level it's all about movement and pokes. Knee hardly launches his opponents. He kills them by poking.
When I play against a Paul player they are always pluggers 🤦🏽♀️
I play in Asian server and there seems to be an abundance of Paul players in there especially in mid ranks.

Paul is really good but he feels so stiff to play. I see him a lot tho, just not in tourney’s

I feel like Paul’s been power crept too much plus everyone and their mom knows the matchup.
I have a theory about Paul I think Paul as a character is deceivable to new and intimidate players because of his tool kit ud think he's a super offensive 50/ 50 character that will just end u with one combo and having this with along alot of skip neutral moves players play him in a very risky way until high level and then they start to realise that everyone in high level is just there blowing up and ducking all there core moves, side stepping his neutral skipping moves ,so at that point they have to play turtle which isn't the character there use to / wanted in the first place so they play a safer offensive character or a better turtle

Taunt in general is absolutely brutal. But if someone hits you with tb4 or tju both players get a lil horny lets by honest
Think you dont see paul in tournaments often because everyone knows that matchup just too well, plus hes not as op as before so maybe its not worth the risk
