  1. Death is ultimately meaningless for a being that can travel through time. Since in the past, the person just plain isn't dead. And there are countless paths along which someone's life might unfold – if you can interfere with causality.

  2. Some of this is actually wrong. The 2012 book that talked about rules for Q can't really be used. Star trek TNG episode tapestry Picard was shot in the chest. Q while talking to Picard look they are trying to save him then asks how he got his artificial heart anyway while holding it in his hand. Q gives Picard a last chance to change his past. Which Picard realized he would rather do things the way he did after seeing what his life would be like and yes it implied Picard died and Q saved him at the last minute as Picard woke up laughing. Which would violate the last rule. After more TNG appearances, Q appears in DS9 2 years before voyager not other way around. Also if quoting episodes please fact check.

  3. Call me old fashioned…but this entire convoluted ‘time line’ plot mess is as farcical as having the main Star Trek universe split into two or is it three alternative versions with retcons popping off like fire crackers, scarring the once straightforward Scifi story with unhealable rifts in character arcs and the canon. The worst thing is…it was all so unnecessary. The story could have just progressed forward, still had voyager,DS9 and Enterprise, but not rewriting prior events. As for Picard…well he isn’t even the flesh and blood Jean-Luc anymore, it is all bloody nonsense. Killing off immortal Q just for dramatic impact is also nonsensical…sure, the writers can cobble up any insane idea to excuse a badly mangled plot…..a mcguffin here, a Deus Ex there and ANYTHING can be massaged out of the filthy seething ‘post Enterprise’ mess, BUT….should it be? The latest notion is shaping up to be something like….Capt Pike is doing great, so lets pretend the whole Kirk thing with Enterprise never happens and Pikey doesn’t get killed and the whole “new canon” can be Captain Chris Pike start to finish….sounds like the murmurings of it to me. Pah…it has gone to the dogs….RiP Star Trek, sorry Gene it has all been ballsed up.

  4. DO NOT BUY LIQUID IV, if it has 3 times the electrolyte content as sports drinks then you can very quickly suffer acute renal failure and hyperparathyroidism with it, the recommended intake of iodine is 150mcg/daily with the maximum safe dosage of iodine at 1,100 mcg/daily. consuming more than that can cause hematotoxicity in the individual due to high levels of iodine ions that can bind with enzymes to form elemental iodine. sports drinks are already known to be dangerous for daily consumption by individuals who are not burning at least 2500 calories per day, it is dangerous to drink sports drinks and electrolyte drinks if you are not actively exercising or exerting yourself. and I don't need to remind everybody that electrolyte = salt, and LOTS of it.

  5. My theory is that the anomaly that appears at the end of a Picard Season 2 is actually caused by Q’s own death. In Voyager during the Q Civil War it was shown that a death of a Q would cause massive cosmic events including stars going super Nova so what if a Q dying naturally caused the anomaly and Q knowing everything knew that the devastation the anomaly would caused could not be avoided unless the Borg and the Federation joined forces to minimize the damage so Q manipulated this entire event.

  6. "For those of you who don't do Discovery." In other words, for those of you who don't appreciate a woke Star Trek series where you or your children are subjected to gay men kissing in Engineering. The moment I saw that twisted BS I turned it off and never watched another episode, then wondered if Gene Roddenberry was turning over in his grave. The nerve of these people, broadcasting that SICKNESS into our households as if we should appreciate it. F that!

  7. I'm not so sure this theory is accurate. If the Q no longer exist in the future, then something else happened. Plus our favorite Q played by John de Lancie was fully capable of changing entire timelines, even going as far as sending the Enterprise to meet the Borg for the very first time. I don't think he died as a penance, nor do I think he died at all. I think he ascended.

  8. the only reason the borg queen is who they are revealed to be, is because of where the crew goes – are you saying that the borg queen is not that person and they should have died?

  9. Watching this, now being on the far side of finishing Picard S2 a while ago, this video is incredibly prescient. Very impressive. I'm inclined to agree with the far-reaching conclusions posited here as well, ones not specifically dealt with in the show. At least, I hope they're correct. It would definitely wash away some of the tarnish of what appeared to be convoluted, unexplained, and/or nonsensical plot points. In any case, I give this video 10/10, A+ 😊

  10. why not? Any excuse to make a ten episode nonthing to get trek fans on board and subscribed to the streaming service before they are frustrated by the tiresome stupid plot of it all.

  11. Let's not forget Captain Janeway also changed the timeline
I also wonder in the resurrected timeline – if DATA could be saved.
His aging could then be attributed to the Borg Queen's 'skin graft' that began to erode his system.
This would allow him to become more 'human' in the way he always wanted to be – while aging like the rest of us.

  13. I have to say, what you said in this made a lot of sense and not just made sense you backed it up with why you thought that. Very good video and thank you for sharing :). Season 3 of Picard is certainly going to be interesting :). I hope Q is not killed off.

  14. An example of mush brained "Star Trek" under the Kurtzman watch; an omnipotent, forever living (unless choosing to die) entity being forced to die because the script demands it.
    "Q, why are you dying?"
    "Oh…you know, just…because…"

  15. I remember the episode where some being tried to lure Jane way to the afterlife or what he told her was the afterlife. Plus the other immortal being who destroyed the hosnack in the next generation but was not a Q.

  16. He didn't bring the dead back to life, unless I'm mistaken, as he merely moved them prior to them dying, from what I can tell… Q basically made a self-fulfilling time paradox..

  17. Am I the only one who thinks the Borg ship looks like a Coronavirus? And if that's true is it mere coincidence that the plot to this season is to get Picard to surrender to COVID BORG QUEEN?

  18. I don't think Q is really dead, maybe a version of himself. In picard season 2 towards the end they said "…there must be two Renées: one who lives and another who dies." That indicates to me that both timelines somehow exist. That is what the rift I think in space is, when the new queen emerges, they do so from an alternate timeline. It is never said if Q exists outside of the multiverse or if there is only one version of the continuum. What if, and this could be a stretch, if the alternate version of Q is that died and not main TNG Q perhaps, they are aware of each other's existence and share in a way a collective consciousness,
Its Q's last words that leave it open ended for me, "see you among the stars" or something to that affect

  19. I think you're onto something with this theory. Personally, I hope that Q is NOT dying, at least, not after he saved humanity. Perhaps the reason why the Federation hasn't heard from the Q Continuum for 600 years (in Star Trek Discovery) is because they're such a royal pain in the rear end.

  20. Interesting theory about the story. I'll have to rewatch the season with that in mind, it may make it more interesting. I really hope S3 steps up the game.

  21. this is a great theory and all but didn't he bring the dead back to life not only in TNG, and Voyager, but also in the game Star Trek: Borg where he brings the WHOLE CREW back to life MULTIPLE TIMES to save a officer's dad? He is also responsible for has the Enterprise make "contact" with the borg decades or hundreds of years before they should have?

If these things are true then that means the Q Continuum have basically ignored their own rules for who knows how long. Thus bringing into question, are the Q really Omnipresisent like they calm to be, or are they just another entity with an actual life span that is just now slowly starting to die?
