  1. (FYI) #Starfield File Sizes

    Xbox Series X – 126.1 GB

PC – 139.84 GB read this info you will be more excited 𝐐𝟏: 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 & 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬?

A: Yep! There's houses in different cities that the player can get. Some you have to purchase and some are rewards for specific quests

A2: Sure can! You can purchase a dwelling in all the major cities in the game & there's at least one that you can get specifically for completing…something

A1: Yes, totally. just as we did in fallout 3 with your dad and in fallout 4 with you son, in Starfield, if you take the Kid Stuff trait. Your parents are based off of you. No Spoilers, but I think fans will really appreciate the actors we got to play those roles!

𝐐𝟑: 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐁𝐆𝐒 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭? 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞?

A1: Hmm…Well… We always make our games for fans both old AND new. So you can jump in without ever having played a Bethesda title before.

A2: There is a Trait and Background system that will let you specify more about yourself, but you can also select an anonymous background and no traits if you want

𝐐𝟒: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫

A1: I can't guarantee every mission can be completed in pacifist mode, but we do have a coiple of systems that will help.

A2: So, we talked about this very early on during pre-production, whether or not we would fully support a "non-lethal" playthrough. We realized that, for various reasons, that wasn't totally fessible

𝐐𝟕: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 (𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐦, 𝐄𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭)?

    A1: Ok so this one…

    A2: Yeah

    (Amazing answers by the devs)

A3: Existing IRL religions are part of the Starfield universe (with folks of all religions and denominations out there) but, we dont really focus on them. Insteadm we highlight three new ones specific to the game

𝐐𝟖: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞

    A1: Shipping it!

𝐐𝟗: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐬?

A1 The mechs are leftovers from the colony wars. Both sides, United Colonies and Freestar Collective had mech. But the freestar collective really mastered them. The United Colonies had mechs too but they also relied on the controlled alien beasts from their Xenowarfare divsion. Both of those were outlawed with the Armistice that ended the Colony War. Im not saying there's an old mech battleground in the game.

𝐐𝟏𝟎: 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐣𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦

A1: Yes you can elect to go to jail or pay a fine when you're arrested (or even resist arrest and try to escape)

A1: All of the playable factions can be completed independently

A2: Ha! That is exactly what you can do- infiltrate the Crimson Fleet for UC SysDef! It's specific to that questline

𝗤𝟭𝟮: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁?

A1: There are over 20 names characters who can join your crew

A2:Over 20 total and we really focused on the members of Constellation

A3:When we first begam Starfield pre-production, we looked back at our previous games, and realized how popular and effective the companions were, So they were a big priority for us, and we really wanted to tie them directly to the main quest.

𝐐𝟏𝟑: 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬?

A1: You just pay them once. We actually experimented with paying them regular salaries but ultimately decided to just have the one cost up front

𝐐𝟏𝟒: 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐬? 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬?

A1: All crew start with a set of perks at specific ranks

A2: They don't level up, but the come at different ranks, depending on the companion

A3:So you might meet a character that's especially good at rifles, and you hire them to watch your back. Or you might meet an Astrodynamics expert that will increase your grav jump range when assigned to your ship

A4: Well we call them Skills in Starfield and they do stack with yours, when relevant.

  2. Skyrim, Morrowind, and even Oblivion were great. After the last couple releases, the confidence in their ability to develop a good game is no longer what it was a decade or two ago. They do not seem to have the creative edge they once did, the quality of writing, the ability to world build, and certainly not the appetite for higher tier combat on par with either a soulslike, or a modern Doom. It is sad, but Bethesda trails only slightly ahead of Bioware by this point in terms of potential that has been lost in the last decade plus.

  3. I'm excited for it but I'm going to take the Cyberpunk approach first and give it few weeks before I jump in. No need to pretend it's going to be the greatest thing since the wheel and set myself up for disappointment.

  4. I preordered it, but my brain hasn't really processed the fact that it's coming out in three weeks. Right now, I'm feeling more excited for smaller things like Phantom Liberty (which is huge, but still way smaller than Starfield), and Fate/Samurai Remnant (which is smaller still). But I'm sure that once I start playing it, I'll get lost in it. I probably won't even remember Phantom Liberty or Fate.

  6. Cautiously optimistic for this game. I let my hype train turn into a bullet train for CP2077 and that sort of got derailed with the technical issues that game had at launch. That said, I REALLY hope this game delivers. The lore and concept looks great and I love a good open world RPG. I still play Skyrim and Fallout 4 (with mods) to this day so I hope this game at least meets the level of those games.

  8. Good to see another RPG video getting lots of views on this hitherto cozy games channel 😊👍Thisgame not for me, unfortunately. First person perspective always makes me feel dizzy, I can't even play Minecraft 😅 Looks like a good game though!

  9. I'm lucky – I'll be on vacation September 6th. When I get back, I'll download the game – by that time there will be a few bug patches, so I'll avoid some of the early release jank.

All I need now it to avoid major spoilers!

  10. I'm not as hyped. A lot of the selling points have appeared in other Bethesda games, and their implementation there was suboptimal. Customization, for example, appeared in Fallout 4. If you found enough stuff for a weapon upgrade, you could marginally improve the damage output, or slightly reduce recoil. Some upgrades were locked behind character upgrades, and those would let you use alternate ammo. But there were already weapons that used those ammo types, so why make that change? I just found the whole thing underwhelming.

  11. That would be a great vid topic: Should RPG protagonists be voiced?

I was surprised that like 90% of bethesda fans absolute hate voiced ones so they dislike Fallout 4 for it and was happy Starfield was silent lol. I personality love when RPG main character is voiced with their own personality, backstory etc. Silent protag often feels awkward being gaps in convo when voiced npc and hearing nothing replying lol. Or something bad happened and their reaction is blank look on their face or a sad/angry react but no voiced words to tell their emotions further.

  12. Also they said, starship customization and base building are end game content.

Ill play through most thebstory before really diving into customization.

Till then, stealing the best ships i come across.

  13. YES!!! Finally someone is excited for the exploration, it's what I've been waiting for the most, I can't wait to explore our solar system, I can't wait to land on the moons of Jupiter, Saturn, and maybe see if we can't land on Venus. I want to see if our Solar System is somewhat accurate, want to see if Titan has a atmosphere, are there volcanoes on Io. I can't wait

  14. For me its also the music, like Skyrim when i hear the music it makes me want to play so badly, same as any music from Witcher 3 ! Now if Starfield can nail that amazing exploration and music combo ill be so excited!

  15. I don't mind a voiced protagonist but under one of these 2 conditions.

    1. The protagonist is a pre-determined character (i.e. Geralt of Rivia)
    2. We have a multitude of voices to pick from

  16. i love bethseda for years. i mean i played skyrim for 300 hours. the combat as you said look so much improved, im simply afraid i will not have much time for it as i had in 2011. i mean today the landscape is very different, for pepole like me that play video games online and trying to stay good in such games.. it become hard to set aside a time to play a epic like starfield because it take you away from the online…

it it happened to me with ff16 i rushed to finish it so i can go back to street fighter 6 online as soon as possible.
so i absolutely sure starfield will be immersive rpg but i think i will not be fully immersed in it like in the past.

  17. Hi Miss Bubbles, I prefer none voiced over voiced Protagonist. For me Starfield can't get here soon enough. Have you seen the Time Line as yet it is awesome. Check it out it will fill in a lot of blank's.

  18. You can join all factions, confirmed. Anyways Some planets have life, and most are quiet ones. People, don't expect every planet to be filled with content too. If you don't want to explore the quiet ones, you can always stick to the ones with life.

  19. I'm as excited for all of the same reasons you have listed. I keep a launch countdown clock running and a couple times a day I report the time left to my wife. I laugh at myself and how pathetic I am; as giddy as I am for this stupid game, you'd never know I was in my mid 60s.

  20. I usually prefer a voiced protagonist, but a silent one is not a dealbreaker! I liked the Fallout 4 factions, especially because there was a way to peacefully resolve everything between all of them (except for the Institute), and I'm hoping we'll have the same option here. I'm really looking forward to the space exploration, but honestly I'm most excited for the romance, as I'm a big sucker for romance in RPG games! Just makes me feel that much more connected to the world and story.

  21. Not a single freakout in this video 69/420 lol
In all seriousness, Bethesda related videogames I played the hell out of Fallout New Vegas, got Fallout 4 on XBox but haven't played much, but you have hyped me for this game so I'll preload it with GamePass and give it a go.

  22. I remember Todd saying that Vasco (our companion) can actually say your name. In the demo Vasco actually says "welcome back Captain Howard" or something along those lines. Does anyone know how this will work? Does it mean everyone in game can address you by name also, or would it be just Vasco? Do you choose your in-game name by selecting it from a list of pre loaded names or by typing it into the game?

  23. I'm an old gamer. The first open world RPG that I played was Ultima III, which I played when it came out, in 1983. It hasn't aged well, though I have fond memories of it. Ultima VII, on the other hand, is still quite playable. After Electronic Arts ruined the Ultima series, I didn't encounter an open world RPG that was so much fun to explore until Morrowind came along. (Daggerfall was good in many ways, but the procedural generation is far too boring and repetitive.) Bethesda is good at this – the mainline Elder Scrolls (since Morrowind) and Fallout games are all great worlds to explore. The quest design and writing sometimes aren't all that great, but the worlds are perfect settings for a fantasy or post-apocalyptic life sim. If Starfield is like this, then I will consider it successful (at least content-wise), and if the writing is up to a higher standard, it will be an added bonus. Yes, the game will have bugs – it is far too big and ambitious not to, but the game really needs to not be broken at launch. Another disastrous launch along the lines of Fallout 76 would severely damage Bethesda's already shaky reputation.

The content looks promising, but I can't overlook bad AAA industry practices that have become increasingly common, so I will not pre-order Starfield or buy it close to launch. I need to see that the game does not cross the line into industry practices that I consider unethical or unacceptable. These might include an always-online requirement (which I consider a deal breaker in a single player game), an intrusive in-game cash shop or other excessive micro-DLC spam if it adversely affects the game design, battle passes, or any other undesirable live service rubbish. I suspect that Todd "It Just Works" Howard and his team don't want their game to be polluted with loads of this stuff, but the empty suits at higher levels might succumb to greed and force the issue. It is possible that they might sneak something terrible into the game after the initial review period is over, so I'm not going to buy this game until I am convinced that it will be no worse than Skyrim or Fallout 4 in this regard. If it looks more like Fallout 76, then Starfield is dead to me, and in all likelihood, all future Bethesda games are too.

Larian has set a standard for single player RPGs with Baldur's Gate 3 – a DRM-free, offline, complete single player experience that isn't designed around microtransactions. Baldur's Gate 3 is more my style of game anyway and I'll be mired in it for a while, so I'm not in a great hurry for Starfield. Hopefully, Bethesda won't deviate too far from the standard that Larian has set, and I'm sure people will be contrasting Starfield with Baldur's Gate 3 in this regard. If Starfield is found wanting, the negative YouTube videos and the review bombing will be entertaining to watch. I really want Starfield to succeed, but if the empty suits have had their way with it and have corrupted it, then I won't buy it.
