  1. My experience selling on reverb is that you get no bump in price selling with a case. I suppose if you had some vintage item with the vintage case then there might be a price difference. But I don't think you get any more money for having the case in general. It probably makes the item more attractive to the buyer, but that doesn't mean more dollars.

  2. Everything is blooming in AZ. We've been sneezing our heads off! In AZ I always keep my guitars in the cases. The humidity swings (a little to a lot less) plus the dust in the air. Gotta keep them in case!

  3. Instead of the Seymour Duncan Hyperswitch for $150 I would recommend the Free-way 10-way switch (6 way for the position) for about $70-$80. No Bluetooth, no electronic weirdness., no apps. I don't know how Bluetooth would work anyway because of the delay issues inherent in Bluetooth when it comes to instruments.

I have a Free-way in my Strat and it definitely offers some interesting tone choices. It's not often you get a product that makes you go, "Huh!" in a good way.

  4. I appreciate your clear and simple analysis on financial photos. Even with the current dip in cryptocurrency, I'm still glad I can smile back at my $87,569 wallet built with my trading. I'm having my fourth withdrawal in 14 working days..

  5. Lol I bought a 75 year anniversary strat and they just handed me the guitar and I’m like “uhmm where’s the case? No gig bag? Whammy bar, truss Rod Allen wrench?” And they rushed into the back to get the stuff lol GC is crazy

  6. Im 50 years old and didn't get into van halen until the late 80s. But the first album I got into was 1984. I didnt like the van hagar material very much. So maybe age isn't as much of an indicator as what he was playing when we enjoyed him most. The red frankie is the only one that appeals to me.

  7. For Antique Rocker and Phil's point about the artist not going away? While this isn't guitar specific: In 1991 when Oliver Stone made his movie about the Doors the band was still selling 250,000 'albums' a year.
    Now they sell 1,000,000.
And Rickenbacker's are AMAZING guitars. I gigged with a 330/12 for almost a year playing music people don't play on 12-strings. Still one the best if not the bast guitar I have ever played. People buying Rics know this.

  8. Lol @ Phil's reaction to the Seymour Duncan Bluetooth switch. I have to agree.

Wifi and Bluetooth chipsets are so cheap that manufacturers are including them in everything and it's reaching meme proportions.

Sadly manufacturers are going to continue doing this to the point where pretty much everything you buy will include this type of tech.

  9. My favorite Eddie Van Halen guitar is the Parker Fly 🙂
The crazy-sounding playing combined with the crazy-futuristic-looking guitar left a strong impression in my young mind.

  10. We took em, but always told customers to just keep ‘em because we weren’t paying them for it. Reason was the warehouse was so overstocked with cases — both from used guitars (with paired cases) and new guitars that came with them, but the salesman sold the guitar and forgot to give the case to the customer. Result was a billion cases back there, and they were all “popped” at 1 cent (reason being so that selling a $999.98 guitar with its OHSC came out to the correct $999.99)

This was over a decade ago so idk if that’s still the reason
