It does live up to the hype
Breath of the Wild 2 will probably beat it
I think the game is so good because it's better than it needed to be in regards to content, it could be 1/4th it's size and scope and still be great, it's just such a HUGE game, the biggest open world i've ever played, and it's crammed with stuff, hidden tunnels/dungeons/minibosses and the enemy designs are incredible in regards to their variety and imagination that went into creating them. To me, it's the atmosphere of the game, i'm addicted to it, it's not so much an action adventure game, it's the perfect fantasy exploration game that just so happens to have combat. I've dumped a ton of time into it and am only on the 3rd main story boss. The game is not without flaws, there are what i call "artificial difficulty" increase mechanics like delayed button presses, say you're wounded and hit the use flask button for a heal, but the boss hits you so it doesn't go off, but then the boss swings again and you press jump to jump over an attack but by this time the heal goes off and you get hit with the move you would have been able to jump over if not for the delay. There's probably 10,000 different enemy types in this game, from dragons to aliens, if you can imagine it it's probably in there and some stuff you can't imagine too and i haven't even seen it all yet.
I'm 25 hours in and haven't even left Limgrave yet lol
"Elden ring is a gamers' game. " 👌
I find it crazy how PC users are having problems but my PS4 Pro is handling Elden Ring extremely well. Only problem I have is I can't see other players deaths when I click on a bloodstain puddle. But that might be a server issue
This game is absolutely amazing. Assuming they can get a handle on the performance issues, it will definitely be Miyazaki's magnum opus and go down as one of the greatest games of all time!
I just can't understand people's absolute love for these souls borne games. I tried and I really wanted to like them especially sekiro but they just dont do it for me.
I haven’t had the chance to play it yet. I was playin’ HFW at launch until that Monday last week…then I got busy with life, and haven’t played anything from last Monday to earlier today. I wanted to finish HFW before Elden Ring, but I also don’t want to wait for Elden Ring.
I was trying to explain why I love it so much. And it's hard to pin point what it is. But for me, I just love how it can go from a standard dark souls experience, into quiet atmospheric moments that I remember having the first time playing Shadow of the Colossus.
It doesn't look that good, tbh.
"Not much out for the rest of the yare"
😂
Time to unsubscribe. Scott is just too much now.
Ubisoft is sweating right now. Fromsoft's first open world game has been better than every ubisoft open world combined – and im a sucker for far cry 3 and 4
I’m having a lot of fun. I haven’t taken any world bosses yet, but it clicks hard with me.
12 hrs in, level 53.. loving it
From software is the makers os sadistic simulators and elder ring is no different.
I'm still eagerly waiting for more Sekiro, but I'm enjoying Elden Ring a lot more than I thought I would
I think this game achieved the perfect level of ludo narrative symmetry. Gameplay and story are fully intertwined. Damn, I think I need to update my pc. Damn you, Miyazaki
I actually thought it was pretty bad
It's a great game but it's a contender for Game of the year. It's long hard and vast and the real path is to just get lost on the other world before going to any real castle and take a shot at the catacombs before facing off against some hard challenging characters
pros: some nice graphics some gritty and gothic some beautiful and breathtaking, some straight out of a horror show to cute and cuddly. they even have eagles and penguins and other animals not ever inspected. Some of the cute and cuddly animals can kill you as well yikes ((do not hang around the edge of a cliff and take you eyes off of rams. they will knock you off the cliff))
Giant crabs you can hurt by attacking its joints
lots of wildlife in the game that are just wildlife
lots of things to do if you want to wander around the level kill a bunch of things and level up you can do that too.
Some extra scenes and fights or avoid fighting depending on time of day etc.
Some creative ways to avoid conflict of lure certain enemies to their doom or fight them from a distance or hit them close up.
makes you think about different ways to approach certain enemies. Not everyone can be beaten down.
Not everyone or everything wants to fight you. Some just want to chillax mind their own business and just stand there or let you walk by them.
You can use a map and travel there without losing souls etc. Never mind that a detailed and efficient map.
lots of weapons and gear. and a "Hand" Ballista that you can carry if you have 64 strength…. good luck
Great storyline ties in to all the other games and character dialog as well.. why did that king cut off his arm for a dragon head and how did he make that work…
Ghost and shadow characters are quite essitnal now for some battles.
Cons:
Some of the boss battles are straight-up hard as hell. And will make you damn them to hell and possibly rage quit. Sure they can be beaten but it can take a while especially if you are not leveled up or geared up etc. Sadly the game favors long-distance over heavy hitting from close at times. Having a shield makes it easier as well oddly
The game does not follow its own rules and cheats at times the bosses can keep trying to hit you or will hit you over and over without any limits and it hurts every time. I guess its met to be that way cause this looks like a conclusion to the storylines
AOE effects galore at points and some hits that clearly do not hit get hit especially for your character. Sometimes your hits do not register either. however the same goes for things that are trying to kill you
Out of reach hitting. Most of the bosses specialize in out of reach hits and lounges and have instant recovery times .
Roll straight into the character to avoid the hit or jump backwards to dodge the hit glitch.
The beginning is fun but the way you choose after by entering some sewers to see a running man of war chariot or whatever it is to out run it or going up top . Go up top its easier.
again some of the characters man do they have aoe events that give them immunity to being hit or hit you from a long way.
the first monster encounter. you can beat it but if it hits you once and even if you have the energy you sent to the next cut screen.
Hint: Level up early and get a lot of souls .. just level up early repeat and do the same and co op for souls man. you need it
Like I said a great game and a contender of the year but not an guaranteed win . To be honest half the gamers might be put off on this one due to the starting path and some of the boss battles etc.
Any other year I agree. Unfortunately it's 2022 and it's stacked to the ceiling and back
It's glorious
Breath of the Wild sequel will be fantastic, too.
Dude that is skyrim 🤦..
