Where'd the Summer go?

Well, here we are on the cusp of autumn and it seems as if the summer just flew by! Truth be told, I’ll be glad to have some cooler weather come October. The garden’s production is winding down; I’m just waiting for the squashes to ripen, and soon I’ll plant the fall/winter crops. I hope all’s well wherever you are. 👍🏾🤩🌈🐶🐶🙏🏿

  1. Good to hear from you! Look forward to your fall garden! Will be fun to see the orange cabbage grow. Have not heard of it before. Sounds yummy and good for you! Your houseplants look beautiful. I had a zucchini cross pollinate and come out like yours too! Working hard on the harvest here. This week will be a busy one everyday harvesting and preserving. God bless!

  2. We all admire your gardening skills, but can we talk about how cozy and well decorated your house is?
Every time you bring us in, I'm in awe. To say nothing of how well organized the kitchen is! Thanks for having us as your virtual guests!

  3. I was thinking how quiet it was when you were showing us around inside, Robert. In fact, I got a little teary-eyed. We all miss Spunky… and couldn't help but to see his pictures on your memorial area for him. You gave him a wonderful full life, and shared him with us – thank you! Your work is cut out for you in your garden! Somehow this year's crop did not seem as giving. Perhaps your soil needs more nutrients sowed into it prior to next year's planting? Who am I to tell the master how to garden? Please pardon me, Sensi, for my transgressions. 🙂 Take care of yourself, my friend. Thank you for this perfect addition to your video library!

  4. Hello Robert! Orange cabbage? Awesome! First time I have heard of it. The Okra is still going and producing. It was too hot for the melon crop this year and many melons didn't make it. Still, other produce did well and alot of canning, freezing, and preserving going on! lol Homesteaders here in the U.S. are starting to get their gardens prepared for the Fall planting. Have a great one Robert!

  6. Hi Robert, good to see you. OMG the auto-suggest still put Spunky as one of three words to follow your name. Guess it probably will for awhile. I agree with Sam, we all miss him, but I am sure nowhere near as much as you do. ❤ thanks for the lovely time this morning!

  7. Hello Robert. So nice to see you again. I must say, I’ve missed you and your posts. I’m glad you’re well and keeping busy☺️. Like you, I’ve had mixed success in the garden this year. My garlic was disappointing but a volunteer cucumber has done extremely well (rather too well, in fact…I’ve been making a lot of cucumber lemonade, tzatziki and cucumber kimchi to say nothing of the endless salads. I’m running out of ideas😅! Fortunately, the season is winding down). The string beans are still going strong and I recently sowed a crop of bush beans that are doing much better than the spring sowing. Lots of tomatoes and carrots and a good crop of potatoes. All in all, I’m happy. We’re off to the garden centre today to see what winter crops we can find. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do in the coming weeks and months. The papaya tree looks great and I’m looking forward to seeing the wax tree in all its autumnal glory. Your freezer looks ready for a series of happy winter cooking videos (hint😄)🤞🏻.
Take care, Robert, and have a good day🙂🙏🏻….I think we all miss the sound of those little feet😔🌈🐶💕.

  8. I always get a chuckle from your okra plants, they are so petite compared to what I'm used to but they do seem to produce well for you. You've mastered having a garden just the right size for one person, you have a lovely garden and home.
