Men glow different too when loved properly. No, like, seriously. When we are in the presence of someone who yearns to learn, grow and dwell deeply in their best self for us, its core shaking and life changing.

There was a time when I would tell Jahneiss that I was going out with my friends and it would be a whole big thing. It wasn’t me, and I knew that but paying for her past was quite expensive at times. I never desired to go out often, only to celebrate a friends birthday, things like that, so i was never clear on why this was such a problem. One day, she explained to me that she’s never had a love such as this and she was constantly afraid of loosing it, afraid of the other shoe dropping, afraid of me turning out just like every man she’s ever loved, including her first example. As the years continued on and she realized there was no other shoe and that my love for her had no end, i saw her healing through her actions.

The other night, i desired to meet my fiends for one of their birthdays and she insisted on having a hand in getting me ready. She’s been dying to edge me up for so long and today was her big day. She did so good and we were both proud of her but my pride was for different reasons. She was so selfless and desiring to be her best for me and that is why I married her, despite her past attempting to mask the beauty on the inside that she truly always was.

We get so many questions about how to trust again, how to move forward despite everything behind you. Whether it’s healing before your next love or within the love you share now, it’s all about new habits and forward moving practices. Actions speak louder than words, and that goes both ways.
