What are some skywatching highlights in December 2022?
The Moon sweeps past Jupiter twice this month, and actually covers Mars completely, in an event called an occultation, on Dec. 7. The event is visible across the U.S., except for the Southeast and East Coast, where the Moon will graze closely past Mars. And throughout the month, you can find Pegasus, the winged stallion, high overhead in the south.

Hey man, i know this is like an american institution but it'd have been really cool to just include some other locations in that table at 1:10
How can you make a Dec what's up episode and not mention the Geminids? I get that its a waning gibbious so a lot of lighter ones will get washed out, but the geminids are pretty well know for having plenty of bright meteors, so its still worth a trip out. Peak is Dec 14th 13:00UTC for the people who are curious.
If the moon had a large population center, those lights would likely be seen from Earth.
0:15 is unhelpful, a picture from last year, with Jupiter and Saturn labelled. Positions this year are completely different!
0:39 December 7 is a full moon, and this graphic misrepresents what can be seen.
2:02 note that Pegasus shown with South up, in an apparent concession to observers in the Southern Hemisphere! This orientation does allow the form of the horse to be right-side-up…
Great Job and see ya'll next year!
great
