  2. Saladin created a monster because he and his ghost didn't understand the difference between justice and revenge. Because he used the same tyrannical sword logic of warlords and the darkness to impose cruel laws that were only more merciful by comparison, rather than in totality.

  5. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I love Saladin's dark/gritty lore. No sexual orientation lore, no Queen Mara whining over her brother, no Crow crying over random sh*t, no light vs dark (we have so much already), just a really angry guy with super powers. THAT is WAYYY more interesting to me.

  6. I still can't decide what I think about crow and saladin's story arc so far. I think I lean towards saladin's side of things. The hive are pretty wretched. But also if we lose mercy, what have we got?

  20. Destiny needs more of this. I've always hated how often we're just painted over as brilliant, shining heroes with infallible judgment. Nonsense. You ever wonder how many innocents get murdered by Guardians just… havin a goof? Or how many of our current heroes were once unbelievably cruel and violent. Now, I'm not saying I'm judging them for any of it. They're functionally immortal humans and humans are terrible, awful creatures. Easy math. But we need to experience the darker side of Destiny. Give us that grim dark goodness baby. Can't be all superpowers and sunshine all the time, ya know?

  23. I heard this story before. Saladin spares the girl. The girl grows up and destroys the village. The girl was the monster Saladin should have killed that day and would of saved 100's.

  27. This is the kind of lore Destiny needs. The brutally of war and fighting isnā€™t just ā€œpew pew I got 200 kills that last Vanguard Strike!ā€ War is unforgiving, uncaring, and merciless. Whenever Saladin wavers from war, awful things follow. Heā€™s the one to make the right decision, even when itā€™s unpopular. ā€œIron within, Iron without.ā€

  28. I love destiny … why … the lore
    Not all good is good
    Not all bad is bad
    Their is a line between light and dark and we cross it every day
    In the game or in real life …. I've always thought of the world being strange and I feel like destiny does a good job throwing more curveballs just like the ones you can get in real life
