What People Don’t Understand About Elden Ring.
This video is a little different then my past few ones. I’ve noticed a lot a lot of bad takes on Elden Ring being made recently and as someone who probably has more experience with the game (Network Test) than most people, I thought I would talk about it and throw my thoughts out there. Of course, you can disagree with me but the majority of the bad takes are really out of touch lol.

Bruh, most people don't even understand what "graphics" and "art style" even are. Graphics are the models themselves, shades, mesh, and a few more. And art style is the textures, the colors, lighting, etc. Smh I hate it when people don't understand wtf graphics are like seriously, do your research people! I would say the graphics of Elden Ring are fucking amazing, and so is DS3. Hell I'd say the graphics look even sharper and better THEN DS3. And don't get me started on the art style of Elden Ring, beu-fucking-full

The same kids complaining about these things, are the same ones lining up for COD every year. They have absolutely no clue about this game, if you have no clue about a game just keep it to yourself. Too many people just follow the trend of hating new games. From Software is a developer that puts out complete, good, involved, games, in a world where everyone else just runs for the micro transactions. Can’t wait to play this gem.

I can't even comprehend the opinion of thinking "the graphics are bad" this game looks amazing, is it the most hyper 4k ray tracing on game I've ever seen in my life? no. There is a very very VERY big difference between not the most HD possible game and bad though, they're acting like this is the same as how embarrassingly bad pokemon looks for current year, like this game still looks amazing even if games that are slightly more HD exist, and comparisons like forza are stupid because that game is literally JUST the graphics. That is the point. There's barely a game. Even Demon's Souls is a horrible argument because it was just a remake, the entire game was done so they got to spend an entire games development cycle on EXCLUSIVELY the graphics obviously it'll look better than making an entire vast open world and story and every model and animation in the game and every enemy and probably like 50+ unique bosses that all have entirely unique movesets and every weapon and skill and spell and miracle etc, and on top of all of that it still looks REALLY good. Plus Art Direction is one million times more important in a game looking good than actual graphical fidelity. Wind Waker still looks really good to this day, super nintendo games can still look super good to this day and they're 16 bit. The style is what matters and keeps a game from looking dated. I can still go back to DS1 and think locations like Anor Londo and Ash lake are some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen in a game a decade later, I don't think you can get that same feeling playing the new call of duty or anything like that.
Go suck the developers dick then. It's just ANOTHER souls game. Fromsoftware should do something different. Only brain dead morons get excited about being fed the same crap over and over. I'm gonna start putting cod, FIFA and souls players on the same shelf

the only animation i dislike is the parry animation, I wish they kept it the same from sekiro. Like the dark souls one, if you were playing without any sound, you would not even know that you parried correctly. I mean you could would, but my point is that it's a really bad parry animation, it looks dated, and I don't understand why they wouldn't use the same one as from sekiro.
Just looked back at some more in depth videos on the parry animation and i realize now why i hate it so much. If the sword swing from enemy comes from right or left side, the parry animation is the same. But if you think about it, like the parry animation for this game and DS, always swings from right to left, so really it looks as if it would only work from a sword swing coming from the left side. So whenever they swing the sword from the right side, it just looks really wonky. Now I can't un see it, so i think im just gonna play a sorcer build, someone without a parry

I agree with 90% of what you said but I'll have to disagree when it comes to animations. It's definitely not the end of the world but at the same time after what Bluepoint did with the Demon's Souls Remake animations I definitely expected to see different ones in Elden Ring compared to DS3. I hate to use the L-word but it does come out as a bit lazy in my opinion. I don't know how that would work but I guess they own a part of Demon's Souls Remake, they could've literally asked "hey Bluepoint, your new parry animations are amazing, could we borrow them from you? Thanks!"
And yes animations are a BIG part of what makes a game exciting to play and watch. Is it the end all be all? Of course not, but go look at a game like Shadow of War and tell me if those animations aren't freaking amazing and on a whole different level compared to other action games from that genre.
To me the "would you rather have a fantastic game and lame animations or a lame game and fantastic animations" is the wrong question. The right question is: "Why just stop at making a fantastic game and ignore animations?". I expect excellence from FromSoftware and taking the time to make just a few new animations (or borrow the ones from DeS Remake) definitely wouldn't put everybody on crunch, slave work and delay the game another year. It's not something that can be done with your hands behind your back but it's also not the most complicated thing when it comes to making a game.
I know graphics don’t matter and this is just me but I absolutely can be turned on my view for a colourful bright game, so I never really got into dark souls… but this, my god it’s so colourful and bright and just so much to explore

I will say, i used to be one of these people who said “oh DS3 has shit graphics” “what’s the point in playing a game that’s hard it’s just bad design” but then I actually played a fromsoft game and everything just made sense, you will never play a more rewarding game.

Personally elden ring looks beautiful to me. I mean the aesthetic in the game is top notch
Souls is a niche genre. Thats why souls fans get exited when people are talking about it. And its gonna have lots of people disliking it. But i think its better for this genre to stay niche. Mainstream gaming is all about money anyway but Fromsoft just want you to play their game.
They've never cared for graphics it's more about the lore and story the worlds and monsters you face are the bread and butter of Souls Games and imo Sekiro and Bloodborne look incredible. Who cares about simple backstab/parry animations there's much more to Souls combat than that LOL and if they're not broken then way try to fix them they're perfect the way they are, make you feel POWERFUL!
Good graphics are a bonus not a requirement if you prioritize good visuals in order to enjoy a video game you should just watch movies instead imo
Hey, so I heard that Elden Ring is a remake of the Dark Souls lore. Is that true? That's what my friend told me. I have never played 1 and 2, so if it is, I think it'll be nice to experience.

The only thing I don't like so far from the look of the game is after sekiro I really wanted to see more boss fights and enemies that require perfect parry timing and more fluid parries to hits. But then again I've not even played the game and if it feels the same as ds3 in combat I'll be 100% okay with that but I feel like it'll feel awesome still.
It's funny how people complain about graphics on a game like this, but then there's other games I'm sure they'd praise to the moon and back like halo infinite. That now holds the title as the most expensive game ever made but has the graphics and gameplay equivalent to crysis 3 from 2013.

Graphics and art design are two different things but the mix of the two determines how "good" a game looks. For example TLOU2 has amazing looking graphics, but it's art design is dogshit so everything looks hi def but ugly. It was a chore to play. Ghost of tsushima has ok graphics but incredible art design and color usage and is far more appealing to play and look at. Fromsoft doesn't need high fidelity graphics because their art design is so incredibly far ahead of anyone else the games look stunning regardless.

The only argument I can agree with is animations, and even then, only a couple. I just wish we had newer parry and backstab animations, because after playing Sekiro and witnessing how dynamic it's animations can be, the Dark Souls ones can seem much more stiff. And lets not forget how many times the animation glitches out and I end up killing an enemy with a fatal stab to the dick due to a height difference. Also, I never thought the parry animations for weapons such as large axes or ultra greatswords were very good in the first place.

Great video. I completely agree with you. I really don't pay attention to bitter people posting hatebait videos or comments for clicks. I know I love this company and their games so that's all that matters to me.

I don't think your video aged well. None of the most viewed reviews even mention quests. They literally have no section for quests at all. Storyline is untouched as well. All that is talked about is the huge open world, dungeons and bosses. I'm all for non-linear gameplay and I have indeed already paid for this game, but it does seem to lack proper NPC interactions and storyline.
