BACKLASH: Naughty Dog BACKTRACKS on ugly art of Stellar Blade Eve. Is there hope for Intergalactic?

The principal character concept designer for Naughty Dog drew art of Eve from Stellar Blade the other day, and it was so terrible that gamers mocked it relentlessly. It was so bad that the artist himself just acknowledged how terrible it was and released new art as an apology to fans of the series. This is indicative of the gains we are making in the industry. They are starting to listen to us.

  2. No. There is no hope for Intergalactic and I can tell you why as follows:

    Legalities. Pure and simple.

If Naughty Dog was able to put something similar enough to Eve into ANY game, for any reason – there are two possibilities. Either they paid to lisence her properly, and her creators as a company would've allowed the use within certain constraints… or they DIDN'T seek proper rights to use the character. Either way they fucked the pooch legally. Because lisencing a character doesn't give the company that does so the right to cause damage to the brand. So all Eve's creators would have to do in court was state that Naughty Dog intended to engage in corporate espionage when they came to them for lisencing and the evidence would be considered – they weren't using the lisence as intended and that would be obvious. They'd get sued into the ground; and they probably can't afford that. If they didn't seek proper lisencing; they'd get sued all the worse… so they're boned either way, and nobody tossed it to them.

    * 1:06 – That ain't saying much; the bar ain't that high… Pretty sure Lucky could still hop it, looking for all his charms.

  3. I am a former member of the german RPG Maker Community and there where plenty of people who come up with stuff like "No critique pls, I´m a beginner". Well, they did not do well after this… xD Acting like a butthurt little shit dont is the solution for mental instability. Its a syndrome.

  4. I'm all for personal artistic style, but there are limits to how far it can be stretched. Considering that nowadays people on both sides are extremely paranoid about what could be considered towards DEI.
