I bet a lot of BookTubers cheat, LOL. You could probably knock out the remaining books by the end of the week. 🙂
I’m excited about our Lord of Light discussion! No rush with Fugitive Prince. I’m reading it super slowly—even for me—and I might pause for another read I need to get to. We may finish at the same time or you before me at this rate! Happy reading, Philip!

Your Fantasy Underground Layer is amazing!!! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on both Jade Legacy and Assassin's Fate!
Thats a good list Phillip. My December reads will be The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages to finish up the Mistborn trilogy – my first ever Sanderson read…Then I plan to read A Little Hatred then finish up in January with books 2 and 3 of Age of Madness. Happy reading!
I loved Jade Legacy. Not often that my only criticism of such a massive book is that I wish it was longer!
I started Curse of the Mistwraith today, excited to watch your spoiler videos on the series as I go on through it.
Brilliant video! I’m in the process of wrapping up A Time of Blood by John Gwynne and then onto Deadhouse Gates for the first time.
Awesome list! Your love for fantasy sparks my curiosity for it ❤
Hey Phil! I gave up on Jade Legacy and Greenbone Saga. Just isn’t what I look for in epic fantasy. I finally finished the Otherland series by Tad Williams earlier. I want to finish his Shadowmarch series next month as well. Also almost down with my own book at long last.
I read "Lord of Light" a few years ago, and I remember it being quite thought-provoking and entertaining. You're in for a good time!
I love that shirt!
The new studio looks fantastic! Maybe some sound dampening and/or lapel mic next?
You reminded me that I have Sandman to read… Otherwise, should finish Farseer this week (Liveship in Jan), start Curse of Mistwraith in Dec (looking forward to watching your discussion on this). I don’t know why but I seem to be choosing long books lately which makes it hard to fit. Oh well.
P.S. Loving the new set up 😉
Quite a TBR to tackle! I actually found Matt's channel long ago with his review of Lord of Light, and I'm hoping to read it next year… this one was a bit chaotic. That said, Sandman is on my TBR as well, I loved American Gods (both the book and the series) and I'd love to pick that one up. Looking forward to your discussion of it, Gaiman's writing and ideas are incredible!
Sounds like you are ending the year on a high note!! I am very much looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Jade Legacy, especially because you felt similar about Jade War as I did, which gives me hope that book 3 could also become one of your favourite finales (like it did for me). And ooooh you are in for such a wild ride with Fitz and the Fool. Great idea to just leave the finale for January, though I doubt it will help with the holiday blues, haha.
My only plans for December are finishing Mike Shackle's Last War trilogy, but aside from that I am just going to pick away at some reviews copies and see where my mood takes me! Happy reading, Philip!!
I am actually jealous that you can still read the last Fitz and the Fool trilogy for the first time! 😍 But of course, as you said, there are always rereads. 😊 I have gotten more into sci-fi myself by the way and find that this genre offers some amazing works of literature. Anyway, a great pile you have there as always.😊
I've been meaning to try Lord of Light for a long time! Will definitely have to tune in to non spoiler parts to hear more. Will be interested to hear your thoughts after finishing RotE, Jade Legacy, and of course can't wait for the Fugitive Prince discussion!
Love the new setting! Has a very "professorial" feel to it 🙂 I happened to just finish Fugitive Prince this afternoon – it may be my favourite WoLaS book so far 🙂 I've got a bunch of series I"m trying to finish before the end of year – MBoTF and Memoirs of Lady Trent among them 🙂 I hope you enjoy all your year-end reads! 😀
Every book in the WoLaS series is amazing and will destroy you too! I am starting Destiny's Conflict in December and am excited for the final book to be released early next year – Song of Mysteries!
Philip I’m so excited for you to read more Sandman! Jade Legacy as well.
What a way to end the year 👌
I for sure need continue with the Realm of the Elderlings and actually get to some Zelazny. Lord of Light seems like a good intro to him and sounds very interesting. Hope you enjoy!
For a self-proclaimed slow reader you definitely seem to get a lot of reading done! 😀 I want to finish The Warrior Prophet and The Heroes, and hopefully start and finish Assassins Apprentice or Traitor Baru Cormorant.
