Dude, I was asking myself that very question. I was half expecting something more along a rival cafe, slice of life thing, not a mafia-style smackdown with knives and guns carried by these maids.
Whoever came up with this idea needs their head examined then certified as a genius. I loved the first episode – especially the performance accented by violence by armed maids. I put this on my list for the season.
The singing scene was something I don't know how to put it into words this is going to be interesting anime
Yeah, when i was looking at the poster, i though it gonna be boring because im not a fan of maids. IT TURNS OUT NO, ITS REALLY DIFFERENT. What did i just watch, it blows my mind. The best part is the blood squirt and the gun dance, its really funny.
The contrast in this first episode is so great I fell instantly in love. Let's see if the following eps will keep up the quality and hype.
this was a complete skip for me this season, but damn, you sold it really good to me, ill watch it when i get back from work 😛
update: yeah, wtf did i just watched is the right reaction, but im curious so ill give it the 3 episodes trial
I thought it would be purely sabotage to steal customers but obviously not
This was… weird! But fun! But weird! Who just came up with the idea of using maids as a fake out premise to turn into maid turf wars? Crazy that this show also just went completely under my radar until today, def in my watch list for this season along with Mob, CSM and MLA. BTW will you also react again to MLA with s2? Really enjoyed your reviews about it last year.
I think I found the one season show to fill the void that LycoReco left. Can't wait for more.
This is the kind of thing that I like of anime.
They aren't afraid of being crazy and weird.
I hope this episode isn't the peak of craziness this anime gets.
Will u be watching do it yourself. The first episode had a good ending
Please tell me this is coming to Crunchyroll ! ?
At first I thought it was similar to the 1st episode of Prima Dolls where the protagonist starts working as a maid in a cafe but sucks at everything and making errors…..but then it took a sharp left turn and I'm loving it lol
I'm not trying to just talk smack but you are mental if you can laugh at this or even enjoy this in the slightest. I mean this, sincerely.
As an old fan of Meiko Kaji, I LOVE this updated modern "Pinky Violence"!
Maid wars just saw a clip for one minute and 35 seconds I would love to find out what streaming service that it is on please help me
We thought it was Akiba MAID Sensou when it actually Akiba Maid SENSOU lol. First episode was wild and the violence and blood was definitely meant to be comedic even if dark comedy at times. Battle maids FTW and basically if the overlord Pleiades maids battle other guild’s maids lol. This feels like one of the more violent bloody shows by CYGAMES and PA Works. It also makes me think about how a lot of tourist areas like Akiba or Times Square are or could have been violent or unsafe places (or at least less friendly) in the past until tourism and gentrification of sorts happened. Seems like that older maid has a vendetta for revenge and is returning to seek retribution
I rate this what the fuck out of ten.
What the hell did I just watch?
Is this some yakuza maid cafe thing?
I can’t help it but to notice how the gun fight perfectly timed with the music beats… I have this urge to watch some 105mm guns as orchestra instruments
This is what you get when LycoReco does a fusion dance with Ya Boy Kongmin
It's a Quentin Tarrantino film!
How did you know the show opens in 1985? I didn't see anything mentioning the year in the anime.
Ranko is now my favorite female assassin
Reminds me of something Tarantino would produce.
Also another thought is that the story kind of reminds me of Kill Bill with the woman trying to get revenge. And ya the blood and gore was unexpected even if we could expect action. I haven’t seen any series as bloody and violent by PA Works. Lol imagine if there was vampire battle maids in Call of the Night. Also even if you enjoy being a maid, that doesn’t mean you always will enjoy being a maid for the foreseeable future as job forever. I kind of hoped the older maid would have done a kuudere serious snobby act as a maid lol
Otaku Spirit needs to take full responsibility for this recommendation! Naively went to see an interesting anime and fell into something with no name! I think I have discovered my ancient love child whom I have been searching for all these years! That or just running naked through Bedlam! "Akiba Maid War" is not the anime we wanted, but it is the anime we need!
I'm questioning the existence of life now.
I knew that there was something about this show where the shoe would drop, but I didn't know what that would look like. This was fun, unexpected and the use of Yakuza tropes in funny ways like the bunny girl cutting her hair (instead of a pinky) was good. Definitely going to check out more.
Whenever you see a 80s Mercedes somebody is going to get shot 😂
It's like Tarantino (in his heyday) made an anime.
Yeah, I will be skipping this one. Doesn't sound like my kind of humor, and, since my time is limited and I've just started watching Mushoku Tensei {binged the whole 1st season yesterday], I have already filled my seasonal quota. Lol
I really don't understand what's going on,all of things didn't go as I expected 🤣😂😂
YAKUZA MAIDS LET'S GOOOOOOO🤩
Bro i was literally dieing when the shooting scene happened 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fountain of blood 🤣🤣
The 30 year old maid dancing 🤣🤣🤣
Btw the cutting hair scene might be similar to how the yakuza cut their Pinki fingers when they make a mistake 🤔
I really don't know where this show has to go. First episode definitely worth a watch but where can it possibly go from here?
Head scratcher , but it seems very interesting
