Have you seen "Cowboys and Aliens" ? I know, dumb name, but a surprisingly enjoyable flick.
Hey…Westworld was kind of a scary western. I'd throw that in the pot as an afterthought.
Coming soon
Blood meridian š¤£š
It would be crazy if someone had the balls to make that
Not really a horror western but 2016s brimstone is pretty dark.
Good video! I haven't seen some of these! So, now I can watch them. Thanks, Santee!ā¤
I see you've discovered how to use AI to animate still images
Nice š I also recommend ghost of the ozarks, cowboys vs samurai vs werewolves, devils deal, west of hell, skinwalker, ghost town, bloodmoon but I really really recommend kill or be killed all good western horror movies šæ and the burrowers is a excellent western horror film..thereās a old western Mexican legend/myth that those creatures resemble in the movie the burrowers are ninos de la Terra translates to children from the dirt?.pretty weird I know.
Very awsomely awsome and interestingly informative video, I really liked and enjoyed it, I learned a lot about horror westerns in western cinema and got a lot of inspiration for my old west frontier, mario, zelda, retro nostalgia childhood whimsy culture and paranormal horror inspired writing projects, that Im writing a new interconnected story for today since this morning.
Great job, well done and keep up the great work.
Todays story is set in a old west frontier, retro 50s/70s era and pirate era city known as Torr Laa Providence City on a island that I named Tortunga Isle, which is southwest of Great WindFish Isle, where my other interconnected stories take place. Four of my stories charecters are DahsLin, his sister ShyShi and thier friends Cuhà hìm(Cuhveen) and his sister Tahraeli(Tahra).
I think I,ll definitely check out some of those horror western movies at some point, so I can get some halloween and old west story inspiration.
The Wind was fantastic, great "cabin fever" movie set on the prairie
I tbink my first introduction of horror in wrsterns was from the xbox 360 game Red dead redemption undead dlc , something about zombies vs cowboys works so well
Never heard of Bone tomahawk, have to check it out .
While it's really not a horror movie, I got a real kick out of Cowboys and Alens…š
Ghost Town is a solid choice, i saw it back in the 90s, on HBO, and a couple years later, it was one of the few movies we had available to ent at the PX at Camp Red Cloud. Now i gotta go see where i can steam it.
Hey Santee, I didnt think there was such a genre. HAHAHA. You taught me something new. HAHAHA. Very cool my friend. ššš
Thanks again Santee & Co. I have an idea for a film . Big Trouble in Little China 100 years before the 1980s Curt Russell film . Swap out his 18 wheel rig for a buckboard .
Hope your Halloween is fun and goes well, Santee.
Great video.
Does The Thing from 1982 count as a horror western?
Kurt Russell is wearing a cowboy hat in the move.
Most accurate way of ending Michael Myers.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
Cowboys and Aliens.
Westwood.
Dusk till Dawn 3.
Quick question I know this has nothing to do with the video… But did some cowboys shave their heads bald like a skinhead? I just want to know. And if so what kind of clippers were used? P.S. I don't dress like a skinhead anymore I dress like a cowboy now days.
Western and Horror… two of my absolute favorite genres, they go together like peanut butter and jelly š
But I also love sci-fi westerns, like Westworld or a few of the old Star Trek episodes
If I'm not mistaken the ones with supernatural elements would fall under the "Weird West" classification. Weird West is actually a pretty fun setting you see in video games and Tabletop RPGs where the setting is the Old West but there's lots of supernatural elements like demons and the monsters…a video on the subject would be pretty cool and could introduce more folks to the setting. There's actually a TTRPG with the setting called "Deadlands" and one of the classes is called the "Huckster", they cast their spells using poker hands and their spell book is Hoyle's Book of Games. If I ever get the chance to play the game as a player instead of possibly having to run the game as the GM (this remains to be seen with my group of gaming friends) I'd likely run the Huckster class just because I like the image in my head for the class lol.
Tremors 4. Only the best movie ever!!
Spooky, Spooky, Spooky! Loved all the references. Thanks Santee.
I wanna see a Hateful 8 scenario but with a murderer that kills people one by one that is ACTUALLY scary. One that has the audience on the edge of their seat and in fear yet, also engrossed enough with the mystery of who the murderer is. I feel like this is a do-able concept that just ends up focusing more on the mystery element than the horror and suspense most of the time.
Ghost Brigade aka Grey Knight, the killing box was one of my favorites.
My favourite horror Western is the revenant " il redivivo"
Thanks for the movie recommendations
Good ol' Burt Gummer! What about Grim Prairie Tales? Cool Video Santee!
I watched Organ Trail last night!
That tremors is probably the only one I've actually seen, and objectively I guess it's okay but it's one of the worst tremors movies.
I don't know if diablo with Scott Eastwood counts ?
Western Horror is such a great film and literary genre. Two movies that I haven't seen mentioned in the comments are From Dusk til Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter and Death Rider in the House of Vampires. You should check out a book of 8 short western horror stories called Bad Memories of Buzzard Hill written by some guy named Cory Andrews!
Thanks for including Ravenous. I was so impressed when I first watched it, especially the score.
im gonna go look that ghost town up that actually sounds like an interesting movie saw bone tomahawk its not bad at all saw tremors 4 the tremors series of movies is odd in the fact that the sequels are all pretty good
ill be looking up a few of the other movies on this list too cause b horror movies and junk food are my fiances and myselfs saturday or sunday evening ritual
Iām glad you included Bone Tomahawk. That movie was way more intense than I expected.
Bill had better start loading some silver bullets.
Did rust make the list I mean in that one there was actually a murderer and murder. 𤷠on a?serious note the cursed gold of the superstitious mountains have a ton of potential would love to see some come out of those legends and stories !!
Hey, santee, has the package arrived yet if not can you tell me when it does
try BloodRayne II: Deliverance
Good to see you have a guardian angel/badman šš
Prairie fever if i remember its name correctly was a good one from back in the day
Good video. I've seen these movies. Very awesome!! Thank you!
I love bone tomahawk also dusk till dawn 3 is a good western horror.
There is a spaghetti western called the great silence. I don't know if it was meant to be a horror film, but it was eerie and sure felt like it.
