“Against All Odds!” International Art Exhibition runs from February 3 – April 30, 2024. Art for Black History Month and beyond. This video inspires people of all cultures to support the arts. We celebrate the determined spirits who rose above hatred and discrimination to pave the way for future generations. This is an opportunity for us all to honor strength within Black people who against all odds found a way to enhance humanity.

“Against All Odds!” has the purpose of educating and inspiring people.  It  celebrates Black invention, creativity, and the rich wellspring of African American culture. It honors the determined spirits who rose above hatred and discrimination to pave the way for future generations.

Throughout history, African Americans (and all the diaspora*) have faced immense adversity and obstacles due to racism, discrimination, and oppressive systems designed to limit their potential. Despite this, Black people have made remarkable achievements and contributions in every field – from science and technology, to arts and culture, to business, politics and more.

“I have a Bachelor Of Science in Visual And Performing Arts, and Art Therapy. I have studied art and lived in Amsterdam for six years. Having an influence on my artworks. Art is a very important part of my life. It is a way of expressing myself thru color and various techniques used for my subject matters.

I have three paintings all telling a story which is part of black history. Leading up to my final painting Against All Odds”. The first painting tells a story of slavery and despair, the second painting portrays the horrific time in black history of cross breeding, scientific eugenics, dna, and sterilization of black woman. The third painting end of the story ,with showing the courage and struggle to rise up together Against All Odds. Showing the African American profile in the Africa colors inside the American Flag. Where the stars are a symbol of freedom and below the Liberty bell. A crowd rising up and holding hands cheering for freedom. In the crowd is a symbol we shall overcome. At the bottom is a scratch technique using green and blue for peace and freedom. Showing the theme how we the African people made it Against All Odds”. It doesn’t end there so many achievements now black doctors, black Engineers, Black Scientists, it goes on and on. It will never stop until we are all equal and United. I hope my paintings have shown the reality and how justice prevailed. – Wendy Kraft
