  1. Metal Storm takes after the Chambers Flint Lock machine gun which has multiple rounds one right after the other rather than a pepper box or Volley gun which has one round per barrel.

  2. There's a musket that's similar to the pepperbox revolvers in barrel quantity called the Nock Gun. Designed in 1779 by James Wilson. The gun had 7 barrels and the caliber was around 46 inches or around 12mm. It was supposed to be made for ship-to-ship combat. Though it looks odd but it has a powerful recoil and slow reload speed. Often taking around 27 to 34 seconds. Depending on the user's speed and experience with the weapon. Though it was very good and mostly killed it's opponents instantly.
