Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted 😉

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer 🙂

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

  1. I watched you guys being interviewed by Matt and Abby and loved it! The question regarding appropriate behavior in different cultures, I have always found you guys to be so respectful of other cultures and traditions, even in the early days. I remember in one video you were watching monks walk in a line down the street and all the other tourists were in their faces taking pictures, you sat respectifully across the street and gave them their space. I was so impressed by that!

  2. I loved this series!! You all did such a good job, I know I wouldn’t be able to last one night doing that! 😂 love Nate’s parents, such pure love they have! Need to see them in more videos 😊😊

  3. I know this video idea isn’t your usual style – but I think it’d be so cool if you guys drove the van to Disney World. You could drink around the world at epcot and compare real countries to their Epcot representations!

  5. The Koreans called it a pai yow (sp?) and essentially it creates a shelter that “bait fish” gather underneath. These fish attract tuna, and the tuna attract the tuna boats. I flew helicopters off Korean boats for awhile and those “plastic thingy” are gps locator beacons.

More than once the crew on our ship would “hijack” a raft from another ship, swap the beacons, and stow the other ships beacon.

I actually have a short on my channel flying off of one of the boats

  6. Whole YT is filed with made up scenarios. These people is hardly 500m away from the neighbor island which too is attached where other people are present in case they need any help … so much made up

  8. I found you guys not that long ago from FB reels. I decided to find you on youtube and started watching from the beginning a few months back. Your zest for life and adventure had me hooked! I have waited until I got the very last video before commenting to tell you that you have help change my life and my outlook. I have been well out of shape for years and live in chronic pain. Recently my husband and I both have started doing yoga and learning to eat smarter. We have teenagers that we are on the verge of getting them raised and becoming independent and we have big plans for our future and I realized after watching everything you have so exuberantly been able to experience that we too want to find our own adventures and live in the moment. Thank you Nate for planning some of the most epic adventures I didn't even know were available for us to all get to live vicariously through you. Thank you Kara for being that shining light and beacon of positivity, inspiration and pure joy. I can't wait to continue to see you thrive and open up the world to us all.

  9. Every video I've watched over the year of Kara and Nate, I always wonder why I feel like I recognize Nate from something. I've just now figured out he looks like Dick Roman from Supernatural, the creepy leviathan dude… (without his new moustache)
