Watch This If Elden Ring Is Your First Souls Game

Never played a souls game before and plan on playing Elden Ring? Watch this.
Elden Ring is bringing lots of new players to the genre. Many will go in having a somewhat warped mindset due to the image Dark Souls has, being the “hardest game ever”. While the souls games can be difficult, they are not unbeatable. There is actually a lot more freedom in these games than most people think. Here are my personal opinions and advice for new players.

  1. i think there’s transmog in the game now so the armor stat > cool looking armor problem won’t be a problem anymore (as i said, i am not 100% sure if the game will have transmog.)

  2. New to Souls games but I like a challenge. Conquered Cuphead and Super Meat Boy all achievements. MHW was my first monster hunter in 2018 and quickly outranked my friends. I'm not scared of Elden Ring. It should fear me.

  3. I think I may need an even more beginner video when it comes to these games. Every attempt I’ve made in this genre(?), the time cost versus reward balance hasn’t been satisfying to me. They are very pretty games, though.

  4. I played DS1, and what drove me away from DS3 was mostly the levels, not the bosses. I did play a bit but after a while going through the zones was just pain and not enjoyable. It was enjoyable on my first DS1 run, but after that it just felt annoying. It is definitely designed to kill you until you learn where everything is on a certain level. I understand why it is fun though. But in my personal experience the only boss that was problematic was O&S (i understand DS3 bosses are way better designed and generally harder).

  5. I have quit both Dark Souls 1, and Sekiro after about 3 hours of play. I have not played 2, 3 or Bloodborne…. Something about Elden Ring is calling me to try again. I just don't have a lot of time to play video games and all the suffering that goes into these games makes it hard to have any fun with the little time I have. I will take your advice to heart when I give ER a try. Here goes….

  6. I recently just got back into gaming so I've never played a Souls game, surprisingly just found a PS5 last week, and I just bought this after seeing all the glowing review today!

So yes this video is for me!
