they wont complain about tom cruise though
Remember how historically accurate AC2 was when the historical figure Ezio Auditore dualled Rodrigo Borgia weilding an alien wizard staff? Pepperidge Farm remembers
I can't breathe ahh samurai
"So you finally care about historical facts" yea, I always have, this is race baiting for advertisement for an overpriced franchise that should've been done 5+ years ago.
Ok but how about we talk about how the game is 130 dollars, and we only have the cinematic trailer. Let me see gameplay trailer to see if I’m actually gonna spend 130 dollars on it.
He was a slave who lived in Japan for 15 months
He was a retainer, like a servant. The fuck ubisoft is doing?
Ezio Assassin’s Creed games where good.
Historical revisionism? In an AC game?? Damn, I never knew.
He was a bagboy
The same people complaining he's not an actual samurai and it isn't historically accurate are likely the sane ones that accept a fictional norse settlement ran by a fictional viking warrior that installed kings and rulers all over England.
At least yakuse was a documented person and his service in the armies of nobunaga is recorded history. Whether he was a typical "samurai" may be debated maybe he just never had the title. I'm sure there will be an insane reason why history forgot his "real role in the events"
Well they have hired LGBTQ+ Consultant to add more diversity. So it will not be worst thing 😀 Maybe he will be gay too
No need to be accurate
He was a drug dealer actually
LOL… society is openly as racist now as in the 50's …. WOW
samurai warriors better 🔛 🔝
No he was not. HOWEVER, Assassin’s Creed is supposed to take place in an alternate reality. In this case, the alternate reality version of Nobunaga, who was well known for being unconventional, seems to have decided to actually grant Yaske the rank and title of “Samurai” rather than just making him a simple servant as our real version of Nobunaga did historically.
Compared to all the other BS being pushed on us by modern media, I don’t personally have a big issue with this.
He was a samurai. But "Samurai" were a lot of things. They were grocers, office workers, worked in storehouses etc. Some samurai have never even seen combat.
As for Yasuke, he was taken as a retainer by Nobunaga Oda because Nobunaga had never seen a black person before and thought he was a novelty. He literally was there for Nobunaga's amusement and stopped being there after Nobunaga died.
I don't mind the concept of a black samurai, but ac has always had the race of the main character based of the culture they are in, and every protagonist was also a original character, acting as a catalyst for the reall historical figures.
Not to say im against the idea though, there are some things in shadows that get my attention besides the drama, such as the dinamic weather, and ac needs something new and this may be it… or it may flop on its face, until we learn more about the game we simply can't know.
Besides that, theres a strange belief that this is the first ac game to have a black protagonist and thats just untrue, liberation exists, and ac4 freedom cry also exists (although thats a expansion for ac4 i suppose). And for the more modern games, although hes not African, ac orgins protagonist is a Egyptian medjay…
Lastly people complaining about the price, heres a little tip, you should never preorder a ac game, you get nothing for doing so and later it will most likely be ~80% off around a year after launch, and the "pre order content" you can get for free on Ubisoft connect…and by then you can watch reviews on the game and see if its what you want as well.
This is why GoT is highly respected to the Japanese
To be fair and honest as a black person, I forgot what I was going to say.
not paying 130 dollars to play a black character
From all my research he was Oda's body guard (big black dude probably made a statment) he was giving the rank of Kosho basically a page or a squire. So no not an official samurai but apart of the samurai and trained with them. It was honorable position though to work and be given a name by the shogun. Which is still pretty cool. I don't think he should be a main character but people trying to diminish the history are wild. They have children's books about him japan. Only right leaning Americans care about thisntype of shit
I don't even care if he was a samurai. I want to know why Ubisoft can't make a game where a black African is dressed as a black African and, instead, have him dressed like a Japanese guy. They can't be bothered to research or respect black African history so I cant be bothered to buy their game.
TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!
He was a bodyguard
The grue story is very much that he was a warrior maybe not a samurai but a warrior definitely on par with the samurai as a warrior. He went dark after Oba's death – the book about him sheds a lot. He had a wife and kid supposedly. I hate the woke culture but this is one thing where it is true. He wasn't a conventional "samurai" he was a warrior
Western bullshit, he was regular soldier
Spreading inaccurate information. You need to do more research sir!
You missed the point. People are mad because of all historical figures that actually would've making sense being an assassin, they picked African dude, and we all know exactly why.
The problem isn't that hes black, the problem is that hes A not Japanese and B the reason that they chose a black character.
It's nothing short of bait to generate free advertising and hiding the fact they charge 130$ dollars for this shitty game.
Why make the main character black? In a game based in Japan? This is nothing short of spitting into a nations face.
No wonder Japanese hate Americans…
Now all of a sudden yall care about historical accuracy in a game…😐
No! He was! He was black trans woman samurai! Bigot!
racism
I've asked multiple Japanese people they all agree he was a samurai
I don't care what they tell you in school, Cleopatra was a sumurai.
Huh. I thought he died with his samurai. Right on.
This whole video is just ridiculous. You're using standards of training established literal centuries later.
At the time Yasuke lived, samurai was just a word to describe anyone who was a full time professional soldier. He was a full time professional soldier. By the meanings of words at the time he lived, he was a samurai. This isn't "lore", this is a real person whose name you've spat on.
No he was a slave. Gave to a Japanese aristocrate like a animal.
How accurate was divinci making a glider for assassin's or the pope featured in past assassin's game… ya'll need to stop it's a game it's all fiction… none of the assassin's was real. The issue is color of the samarui
for the white and black foreigners. i will make it easier for you to understand what a samurai is.
a samurai is a noble warrior from a noble family that serve a royal family. it is the equivalent of a knight for you westerners. 🙂
just because a japanese person is holding a weapon, it doesn't mean he is automatically a samurai.
just like in western culture. there is a big difference between a knight and a foot soldier or a mercenary.
just because a white guy is fighting in a war in the medieval era it doesn't make him a knight. 🙂
