  1. Erda’s plot honestly has seemingly gotten worse with each plot revelation, especially now that we know alpharius was raised by emps and was more sane than half his siblings.

A big problem has always been gw being unable to decide how bad of a guy big E is and that indecision harms a lot of characters.

  2. Did GW retcon the emperor nearly dying in his fight with the Ork? Last I checked the emperor annihilated the Ork with ease. I did see this in a conversation about the emperor nearly being defeated I didn’t take this as a recount of lore as someone pointed out that the emperor did in fact Ctrl alt delete Ork with no issue.

  3. Man, I love this topic but I gotta say if you can't be bothered to get the narration right, edit it so you have a good read through. Bumbling your way through the text is super painful.

  4. I always find it a bit concerning when I see the argument of 'what was she expecting the 20 demigods of war to be used for?' very concerning. Homie, there's a big difference to lets reunite and protect humanity versus I'm going to tear a path of bloody conquest across the galaxy, killing countless innocent people to build an empire of misery and suffering.

  5. The problems with Erda are many, but the worst are her unexpected, brief, and massive impact on the lore, absurd power scale, and her largest contribution to the lore ends with quite possibly the most idiotic choice imaginable.

Erda was wrong about the Emperor; there is no doubt whatsoever. She supposedly didn’t want the Primarchs to be raised by the Emperor, because he would make them into generals for his crusade. So, in the absence of the Emperor, they became… generals just as capable as they would be with the Emperor, but with various mental, physical, and personality problems from living in jacked up situations caused by Erda. Yes, Konrad Kurze benefited greatly from Nostromo and having no guidance. Angron turned out exceedingly well prior to the Emoeror even arriving.

It’s just nonsensical. It’s sort of like fearing what my wife would teach my son and deciding to drop him off in the Gaza Strip instead.

  6. Hey. Fulgurite is just the propper name for ANY glass made by a lightning strike, it's not specific to the big E. What made the fulgurite shard special wasn't that it was made of fulgurite but that it was the big E's lightning that made it.

Similarly an Athame is just a knife meant for ritual use. It doesn't have to come from the sword known confusedly as the Anathame (a portmanteau of Athame and Anathema). The Athame Ollanius takes for example comes from a different, potentially more important and far older source. Erabus's Athame is however almost certainly a shard of the sword.

  7. Fulgurite is the name for the crude glass made by lightning for real.
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate that the residue of the Emperor using his psykic might, creates a trinket, with enough power to perma-kill a perpetual.

Great point, if Erda could have been the queen of the warp, and Big E is greater than all the perpetuals combines (Erda, Malcador, rest of the schmucks). Yeah, the Chaos gods probably do mess their pants when he comes around, Nurgle hiding is absolutely the appropriate response. Man the implications…………I guess that is why Big E will never be allowed to hit tabletop.

  8. If the emperor saw them as tools only, he would have never uad to cast off his compassion in order to strike down Horus. But I believe "Mother" was correct in that the Primarches were not tools, and needed be loved and wanted.

  9. I always felt, that she was shoehorned in, didn't make sense to me, goes against what we learned in "First Heretic"

I'm glad she's supposely dead, good riddance for bad rubbish.

  10. Can we just pretend this book didnt Happen? The plot was so incredibly Cheesy. Maybe the creators realised how mich of a sausage fest the Siege of terra is but this was just plain dumb. So the future is grimdark and evil, because karen didnt got the custody for the primarch, thats just dumb
