VYBZ KARTEL Returns to Trinidad & Tobago After More Than a Decade to Launch New Rum

amaican dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, known for his magnetic presence and undeniable influence on Caribbean music, has landed in Trinidad and Tobago after more than a decade away. The star, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, arrived at Piarco International Airport last evening, accompanied by his team, to launch his signature rum, STR8 VYBZ. The highly anticipated unveiling will take place at Angostura Solera Wines and Spirits in Port of Spain tomorrow, marking a significant moment in Kartel’s expanding entrepreneurial ventures.

Kartel’s visit comes on the heels of his dramatic legal victory earlier this year, which saw his 2014 murder conviction overturned by the UK’s Privy Council due to juror misconduct. At 48, the dancehall veteran has turned a new page, balancing his musical dominance with business pursuits while reconnecting with fans across the Caribbean. “It’s a blessing to be here in T&T after so many years,” Kartel said in a statement, hinting at bigger plans for regional collaborations.
