  3. One of my professors in college said it best. We hold on to shows so dearly and it’s such a huge part of our culture because of how little we were represented growing up and how we didn’t see that many people that looked like us on TV so the images that we did see, we held onto them

  7. The conversation you and your friend had in the car was very insightful. I am a fashion design student but I don't get dressed for class. My excuse is, "its just college. It's not that deep." I put a hoodie, some leggings and keep it pushing. I do notice, my classmates that gets dressed and pull looks gets more respect from the teachers. I never looked at things that way until now. People only take you seriously when you look the part.

  8. Love seeing young black women supporting each other and motivating us all. I am alot older and I remember the Jeffrey Dahmer murders and press coverage, I was graduating high-school. I too watch the Netflix series and they didn't tell the whole truth, alot was changed and left out. I still feel bad for all the people that lost their loved ones…
I know you will have a fabulous time in Paris, keep up the great work; keep striving no matter what life throws your way!

  10. I think the conversation about being appealing across cultures is important for our personal growth while still being unapologetically black. If you tap into some white influencers, I think the judgement is different but the pressure is the same when it comes to influencing. They get negativity also, I think culturally our perspective is just different on both sides. I do think white ppl influence other white ppl but I think black dollars are spent more broadly across industries and with white companies bc they have been monopolizing for years due to more ownership. Black people are next level consumers for so many reasons yet the ownership is not equal all while judging one another.
