Vintage Pelican Paperbacks – Numbers A201 – A300 – Post-War Penguin Books Non-Fiction!
In this video, I go through my collection of the third hundred vintage Pelican paperbacks, numbered A201 to A300 as published by Penguin Books from 1949 to 1954. These are fascinating to look at and really cemented Penguin reputation as ‘The Popular Educator’.
I do hope you enjoy this long-overdue look at this series. I’ve pretty much got the first 600 books complete, bar a couple. I’ll do the next video in a month or so.

As you say, some interesting subjects.
What we used before Google et al .lol . Some times dry yet interesting . I am guessing that there were catalogs to show subject and number .Love the plastic covered book….on plastics .😉 . I have heard that one of Bradburys books was bound in asbestos ( one guess as to which one ) .Some great books . Thanks for the show and tell .👍🖖
Your thoroughness is exemplary. For the missing numbers, most people would say, I don't have these. but you take the extra effort to actually show the covers of the missing ones, too.
You never see Pelicans in US bookstores. I've seen one in 20 years.
Dust wrappers on paperbacks is quixotic.
Incredible collection.
What fascinating tittles ! This is the called spirit of '45 present here. Where is that british society what produced that things today ?
