  1. Idc about if I’m first or not but all I know is that my second favorite game is super Metroid because of how many mods the community has made the community utself being awesome and the game being a classic and somewhat nostalgic to play and the game is just so well made I’ve beaten the game many times and the story of it never gets old well at least for me and the amazing things that the community has found out such as the mock ball, blue suit and figuring out that you don’t even need the grapple hook to beat the game. It’s just truly a solid fact that this game is one of the best! (Sorry for spelling errors)

  2. Oh am I the first to like the video? I would expect more likes and comments when the video starts when it’s an awesome creator like oats! Or maby it’s because most of the people watched it in the stream well anyways keep streaming super Metroid oats and wish you the best in your streets! (Sorry if I sound weird)

  3. 41:48 Not exactly the same thing but I almost bought a $20,000 Toyota FR-S (now named the 86) and I would have been like legit transcendentally fulfilled, but I put the purchase on hold. Not too long after the factory I worked at held a meeting notifying us that they planned to shut down operations at the facility in 6 months.. Imagine if I bought that car and had a couple hundred dollar payment to worry about!

This prospective purchase was to replace the Volvo I currently drive. Bought it for less than 3 grand. Within a month power steering system failed and almost caught the engine on fire (bunch of smoke from under the hood) but that wasnt too bad to fix. The real kicker is when I took the car to a Volvo service center. What I thought was a decently running car with a turbo and decent enough specs to fulfill my inner child race-car driver, with a small bill of repairs, was in fact saddled with a possibly warped head gasket, a faulty turbo sulenoid that is no longer manufactured, and a quote from a Volvo rep telling me it would cost over 15,000 to perform a complete repair. Even if I found a place that can find a part that is no longer manufactured, everything neccessary all together would still equal at least twice the price I paid the shady dealership for the car in the first place. This was the most expensive used car I had purchased, and the most expensive to repair. So yes, I have bought something and then realized what additional expenses are required. 😅

  4. My take on the believers vs doubters is, if it's a gamba that tests Oats skill like "will Oats pull off "x" trick" then believer all the way. If the gamba is based on luck or rng I see no problem doubting, I'm not saying Oats is bad, I'm saying the rng is bad.

  5. The QoL and working map in this randomizer are both impressive when it comes to programming and gameplay. Some other randomizers can be a bit hard to follow where the rooms are.

And thank you for continuing playing randos, these videos bring alot of joy.

  6. Re: White line below horizontal doors: I have an assumption that it's related to the game enabling f-blank (turning off the screen to enable VRAM access) below the doors (usually not visible because the rest of the surrounding is black) which is confirmed by looking at a vertical door transition as evident that when you e.g. look at 8:16 frame by frame, you can see how the top of the door disappears in some frames (f-blank enabled) and in the same frames, you can see a white line below the HUD (which still is visibly drawn).

I have not enough hardware knowledge but there is a correlation between both while lines and f-blank (Selicre, also a SNES coder, also assumed something similar by claiming it's because of PPU access). In any case, this is also explains why it's not (immediately) visible with other games as they usually apply f-blank for the whole screen (hence why loading screens often are black on the SNES), though some still enable it in the middle of the screen (e.g. Super Mario Kart, any Super FX game like Yoshi's Island) so it can be interesting to see whether it appears on these games as well.

  7. Now the rando: With this being a challenge rando (fixed route), as soon as I saw Supers behind Ridley, I knew the Supers bet was dead and all the other Supers are located within Norfair (okay, not literally all but most of them, alongside whatever the major is blocking).

  8. I know this rando is over so whatever happened already did but im expecting this rando to be one where all super are locked behind ridley and you have to gather beams and energy tanks and missiles to beat the boss

  9. Does anyone know the randomizer info? I used varia and it doesn't show the same quality of life and map settings. Any info would be great because I'd like to play my own randomizer
