  2. Venom comes from the Knull who used the Celestial head from Guardians of the Galaxy called Knowhere, then they drifted through space on a meteor, Knull is an Eldritch God and that’s why we haven’t seen him in Marvel because even nerfed, he would be way too overpowered, but once symbiotes start multiplying like Carnage, they get more powerful than their parent symbiote, canon.

It’s also worth noting how closely Venom and Symbiotes are to The Fantastic 4, Spiderman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Eternals, and Deadpool in later stories pertaining to Lady Death.

I don’t think we will see Knull any time soon, as we need The Fantastic 4 unimind story (taken by Eternals)

  3. So, every character in live action associated with Spider-man in the Marvel Comics is a Sony property with association with Marvel (Which is Disney/Marvel => The MCU). Which means that Sony has a universe of their own, similar to the MCU, and these two universes someday hopefully they will interconnect with each other, so we'll get Spider-man with his associates into the MCU.

  4. As you may start to realize, the fanboys of Marvel can be quite a whiner when it comes to the quality of superhero movies. My advice is, just watch what you want to watch because yes, there are Marvel properties that are not amazing, but are still very fun to watch and we can just sit back and enjoy. I'm very happy that you watch Venom and enjoying it. Superhero movies dont have to be exceptional all the time as I'm sure you already know. I watch superhero movies since 1989 Batman and I can only say the really bad one is only Fantastic Four (2015) Yes I like Daredevil (2003) and Green Lantern (2011) lol Btw, have you watched all the X-men franchise, Tobey and Andrew Garfield spidey movies? Just wondering

  5. I love these movies and am so happy you have chosen to see them. Most marvel purists hate on this franchise too much and unjustly so. I hope and pray for another sequel or draw Eddie and Venom into a universe soon.

  6. From memory when Sony bought the rights to Spider-Man it was with about 800 associated characters. That’ll give you an idea how many characters Fox had when they had the rights to both the X-Men & Fantastic Four!!!

  7. Trin is correct in that Venom is the dark half of Spider-man, his shadow side that was only slightly properly adapted in Spider-man 3 with Maguire. After attempting to bond with Parker, in the comics, Venom found a mate with Eddie Brock & became one of Spidey's greatest enemies, especially since he once shared a mind with Parker. He eventually became an Antihero though while still hating Spider-man.

I always thought the idea to make movies about Spider-man characters without Spider-man was absurd but I'll admit that Sony did a decent job with Venom though he's a very different character in the comics (and not nearly as comical). Hardy's Brock is great here though and closer to the comics than in Spider-man 3.

  8. There's a lot of differences between this and the comics… The comics there was secret wars, that was a hero fight on another planet with a lot of our earth's heros… Spidy was involved, his suit was damaged, he found the symbiote and it helped him, and I attached learned from him. Symbiotes need to be with their host and Peter is Venom's perfect match so he's obsessed with him and was making him evil (as seen with jazzy Peter in Spidy 3) Mr Fantastic had to help blast the symbiote off Peter using sonic charges, and being a Symbiote it needs a host.. Finds Eddie Brock and here's the Venom we know. Venom has all Spidys sences, webbing whatever he learned.. NO ONE hurts Peter when venom is around. It's one of those no one kills you but me things. Venom is outrageously underestimated and powerful.. Watch out for his kids too….

  9. Sony owns any character associated with Spidey too. Over 700 characters in that alone. This movie was the start of what Sony called the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC) until they streamlined it to just Sony's Spider-Man Universe.

  10. If you liked Venom, you should check out Spawn. The character is not connected with Marvel, but the creator is Todd McFarlane, who drew many of the many iconic Spiderman issues, including creating the visual design for Venom.

  13. Fun fact: Venom and the symbiotes were created outside of marvel, then marvel bought it and connect them with spiderman.(but they definitely has nothing to do with each other)

Tom Hardy was trying to make movies about the Venom verse, outside of anything related with spiderman, and with a darker tone.
But then Sony wanted to sell Venom to kids and started censoring, cutting scenes, and of course, trying to pull spiderman into the game…
Sony… They rather to make money out of fan service before than exploring good ideas.

  14. This film is heavily inspired by the Lethal Protector storyline where Eddie/Venom agree to leave New York City moving to the West Coast around the San Fran area. Here they become Anti Hero's a big change to their first appearance as a extreme Spider-Man villain. For the film they get rid of the whole Spider-Man connection so Venom gets captured, Bonds with Eddie and we have this film.

In the comics Peter gets the Black Suit, finds out it's an alien, Fantastic Four help him remove the suit in the Baxter Building but the suit returns to Peter overnight. And finally Peter climbs to the top of a church tower using the bell to knock the suit off. Eddie Brock happens to be in the same church leading to Venom bonding with Eddie and becoming Venom. Then we get issues showcasing Spider-Man vs Venom until we get to the Lethal Protector Storyline in the 1990s where Venom becomes an Anti Hero.

Spider-Man 3 for all it's problems pulled off the Church seen extremally well, beyond it's Venom design and Eddie Brock wanting to god to kill Spider-Man, Never says that in the comics and his design is pretty much what you see in this film but with a white Spider-Man symbol.

The film kind of combined Lethal Protector with there own origin story pulling from the Spider-Man Animated Series where a space craft carrying the symbiote crashed on Earth. In the Animated Series Spider-Man helps the space craft land safely where the symbiote then bonds with Peter creating the iconic Black Suit. This does away with the whole Secret Wars events and makes it much more simple. But of course the film only uses the space craft idea and does away with Spider-Man and New York.

Also the lack of Spider-Man means no white Spider Symbol on Venoms chest or the ability to shoot webs. In the comics Eddie while bonded with Venom gets a few of Peters abilities, pushing that Darker Half of Spider-Man idea.

  15. The Doctor (Dora Skirth ) is Jenny Slate (Parks and Rec) – got her initial fame creating and voicing Marcel the Shell – if you haven't watched any of those old YouTube videos.. you're missing out. Just sayin.

  18. 3:55 Oh yeah they have there own planet and everything. The only rendition of Venom who I can think of who is not from space or an Alien is the Ultimate Universe's Venom. In the Ultimate Universe Film was a symbiotic biosuit created by Scientists Richard Parker and Eddie Brock, Sr. This suit had the goal of healing humanity from disease and illness. This project was dubbed "Project Venom". Stage 2 of the project was unable to be completed so they went to partnership with Trask Industries (Trask creates Anti Mutant weapons and The iconic Sentinels) who took the project away from them.

Decades later a 15 year old Peter Parker and an older 18 to early 20s Eddie Brock find out about there parents project and hope to finish it by using samples of the project. Some of the "Venom" falls onto Peter creating the iconic Black Suit but it feeds on his rage and by the end of the comic Peter finds Uncle Ben's killer losing control and turns into a monstrous Venom. Peter removes the suit but later Eddie becomes Venom.

  19. 4:05 OG Comic Venom came during the Beyonder Wars. Space god Beyonder summoned all the Heroes and Villains to Space for an Epic Battle. In the fighting Spider-man's suit was destroyed so Beyonder gave him the "Black Suit" which later discovered to be the Symbiot. On Earth Mr. Fantastic used a Sonic Gun to get the suit off Peter. It found it's way to Eddie Brook who became Venom.
