Bangladesh is governed by none other than its founding father’s daughter, Sheikh Hasina, who has been in office for more than 14 years.
After a large fire burned through the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar on March 5, we ask how she is facing the challenges that have been brought on by the refugee crisis since 2017.
And as Bangladesh prepares for a general election later this year, we ask Hasina about allegations of persecution of opposition members.

Discover the Truth Behind Sheikh Hasina’s Rule in Bangladesh!
source
As a Bangladeshi, I confirm that democracy has disappeared in our country for the last 10 years. One of the major problems is the wing parties of the Awami League. And almost all of the political personnel if not all are linked to corruption and money laundering billions of dollars. And our country is mostly dependent on the expatriate workers. The garments industry's money goes directly to other countries just like it enters Bangladesh.
May Allah strengthen Sheikh Hasina and May Allah SWT bless and guide her and her people. Guide our politicians and clear their heart and forgive their sins. We are getting doomed by their wrongdoings.
Thanks to Al Jazeera for this interview. Please do more of this interview with Bangladeshi politicians. This will help us regain democracy and because the politicians of Bangladesh don't think for once that they will also be questioned for their actions.
A great leader of Bangladesh. There is no alternative of her
There is no democracy in Bangladesh right now.
Even the price hike is at its peak level due to conspiracy and syndicates. As a Bangladeshi citizen, I feel really helpless and I can't even speak about the problems loudly as there is no freedom of speech in this so-called smart and digital country. I wish everything will change if a leader like Sheikh Mujib comes again and changed this vulnerable system that has been ruling year by year.
dictator
She is not attacker! She is killer of democracy!
Such a mannerless weirdo anchor! interrupting a Prime Minister's talk, putting his hand on the face and sitting in a lousy way! I didn't know Al Jazeera had such horrible standards for hiring people.
"There's no democracy in Bangladesh."
As a Bangladeshi citizen I can confirm that.
She is a perfect liar
The thing with this is
She is capable of running the country
I don't mind her ruling the country for as long as she wants to until she is incapable of doing so. Everyone else in incapable of running our country properly.
If western critics think our respected prime minister is an autocratic leader, they should take a good look at other political parties. The problem lies within us, we have become very used to corruption. How do you manage a country if every system has more or less corruption in it? Some Bangladeshi folks supporting different political parties now working with Al Jazeera trying to heat things up. We need 99.99% corruption-free country where 1% does not have an enormous amount of wealth. I have heard stories about super-rich Bengali people, if they only invested their money in Bangladesh instead of some first-world country, things would have been different. Please be respectful to our honorable prime minister, she has been through the unthinkable and still serving her country to this day.
To be honest, at this moment Bangladesh doesn’t have any democracy and doesn’t even have any freedom to speak.
Hasina here is acting always so innocent despite what she had done in the past.
I am from Bangladesh …. So i know how many lies she have said…. But because i am from Bangladesh i can also say there is some truth in her saying…
Now let me clear it out i don't support any party so i can speak the truth freely…
->Did the election was done fairly? absolutely not every Bangladeshi knows that.
->Did she improve our country? This is a difficult question because you cant say no and yet you can't say yes . If you don't have much knowledge about politics and don't have knowledge about Bangladesh and you see in many international ranking Bangladesh is improving and you believe that Bangladesh is improving but the problem is you just have seen the overview and you have believen it and you have been diverse from the main problems.
Lot to speak but its boring to write ✍️
But let me say the current problem and i believe it the most important and destructive problem for our country
Awmilig have set a time boom💥 in our country… Its not just harmful for us its lethal from them too
Trust me awmilig can't set a fair election even if they wants it they still can't…
Because if fair election have done take my words most of the Bangladeshi will give vote to BNP
And they wins now the time boom 💥 explodes
BNP's first priority will be revenge many people will be killed many people will start disappearing… It will create a chaos and instability in the country… This bad for both the awmilig and the common people…
So its a bad position we don't want a dictatorship system in our country but having a fair election will also be bad for the country…..
There is a solution buy i am not seeing any one who's trying to do it …. There have to be a new face a new party a new person with fresh mindset… Who will not think about the past only think bout the present and future who is honest who is educated who has a clear vision and who respect for our culture our religion .
Lot to speak but its boring to write ✍️

We Bangladeshi people are in great suffering under this situation
Democracy?? huh my foot!!
She's worse than putin
I'm very much upset with the current state of my country Bangladesh. Corruption is killing the whole country's process and the astonishing matter is, the politicians and the people of govt are involved in there. My country’s people can't affort food. Beef, chicken etc are now luxurious food for lower level people. Honourable PM Sheikh Hasina is suggesting us to eat green jackfruit as a substitution of meat! Isn't it a joke? We are in trouble. People now choosing 1time meal instead of 3times. People may have irrelevant problem but govt isn't even trying to solve any relevant problem at all. They are just busy in stealing everything!
