Using code to break a game like Let's Game It Out

I was thinking…is debugging a video game different than debugging other software? Well, I found an open-source game to find out and things got a little crazy.

  1. 5:50 The way you change the numbers reminds me of what GrayStillPlays did in his later Farming Simulator 19 videos starting with the one titled "I decided to ruin the game with mods and this happened". He just went into the game files and changed numbers there.

  2. "I want to find bugs"
Chooses an ancient open source game with a niche but probably highly dedicated community whose only feasible reason to contribute is passion, catered towards the kind of players who create spreadsheets for fun.
Yeah, I'm not surprised you didn't find many bugs 😛

  3. He just destroyed Enshrouded. smh.. It's truly endless, the chaos.
This was fun though! Makes me want to pick up QuakeC again, its the only "code" I ever played with or knew back in the day.
Mr. Lets Kraken it out, thank you for the wonderful video!

Edit: Oh, and also used to mess with Homeworld ship files, this video reminded me of that alot actually.
I used to do what you just did, couple million hps for the mothership, make my tiny scout ships cost even less, free, and threw ion cannons onto them to boot. Super OP mode. Fun, but gets old fast.
