  1. The government is not supposed to be any part of social security it was a different system , the government should repay all the money they took out of it for their stupid government spending .

  2. With many items we need to purchase, gas, groceries, medicines, etc. the pitiful increases over the past few years don't even come close to covering the actual 20 to 40 percent increase in some/many of thes items.

  3. Our gov is just corrupt. They give you a tiny 2.5% pay raise only to raise your medicare premiums much higher and your effective money is less now. What a scam! Sick of all this bullshit.

  4. They deducted 6.2 % for every penny I earned my entire working life and my employers paid their 6.2 percent. All the people earning more than 168,000 + dollars per yr pay don't pay SS taxes, only the medicare taxes, there really shouldn't be double standards. That 168,000 cap should be removed. Earnings are earnings, taxes owed are taxes owed as all of us are very much aware.

  5. That 2.5 is nothing. Can't keep up with inflation. An your talking average, not everyone gets that average. I don't get even 1500 per month so the struggle is continuing. Not to mention housing costs. So a mere $50 increase doesn't help

  6. I don't believe your explanation as to why there won't be enough funds. Social security should have been self-sustaining. The reasons are that there are so many people receiving that have never paid in, and our government has STOLEN from us, which they call borrowing. Borrowing implies intent to pay it back. Let's not forget about all our migrants spending tons of it now who obviously have never paid in. Not only have we paid all our working lives, we will continue to pay the rest of our lives by being shorted. Yeah, I'm angry. Because that's the truth of it.

  7. You make it sound like people don’t plan retirement properly. We pay into it for years and years! I think that mr trump and mr musk can trim enough pork to help shore up the program. I feel like we are being cheated out of our retirement when we paid into it for years for other people to enjoy theirs. Something is broken and we need to fix it. To many rich people not paying enough taxes and to many young people who don’t even want to work. I feel like people in my generation who worked hard for 40 years are getting the shaft. Let’s make everyone pay the same amount of taxes and educate the young people who dont want to work as to why they really need to.

  8. Add retirement age to 70 . Check out the number of seniors who would agree to same .Factors – health and enjoy keeping active rather than hibernating . Just about all my associates plan to work to 75 plus . All white and blue collar workers involved. Tim

  9. The avg. American is having a tough time, I know I am not alone. There are others in same position as me. By certain statistics: 22% of americans have no retirement savings. 64% are worried that they will not have money in latter years while 47% of adults who are not yet retired think they have to work part-time in retirement. How can I best grow the 100k I have saved seperately outside retirement access which of course had depleted over the years?

  10. The government stole my money for nine years. I’m 75 years old getting paid $190 a month is a complete slap across the face and an insult I would like to have all of my back money 2500 a month and then they just stole it and kept it all even while I was paying my taxes and I have the receipts to prove it and now I’m disabled 75 years old going in the hospital for surgery and I really appreciate every bit of money counts but I need 2500 a month just to cover the bills. It’s ridiculous that they stole all my money. I’m sure it was the Biden administration that really helped. they’ve got trillions of dollars that they kept from tax dollars of my money and bought them self luxury homes And 10,000 for each illegal immigrant, sad country and put them in five star hotels
