  1. I’m gonna call it early here, the DK rune system is either gonna get completely removed, discontinued or receive an obnoxious amount of support that you just whish it would in about 1 year max. Or they just add a renathal like effect that allows you to build around it avoiding some restrictions. It’s just such a weird mechanic to invent all future cards around

  2. I feel like every reviewer of the unholy cards is forgetting that Sire Denathrius and infuse mechanics were just released in the last expansion. Unholy can easily leverage that, dump minions on the board, then close out with Denathrius, gaining tempo with other infuse cards along the way.

  3. Have to remember all these cards that consume a lot of corpses to get a not to good buff, also generate alot of corpses back into your corpses pile inherently. Like Tomb Guardians, if you have 4 Corpses' to give them reborn, you will be getting all 4 of those corpses back by the time they die 4 times.

Unless I am mistaken in how I see Reborn and Generating Corpses work. I am assuming a Corpses is generated on death, and they die 2 times each. Generating 4.

  4. Seems like a 3 unholy deck just relys on SireD. Thet can't make it too strong or the deck will just wreck. Unholy seems like a great splash in other specs though, most probably those are stronger.

  5. I kind of agree that some cards are very underwelming, for me the tokens of the 3 cost spell could be 2/1 and the tokens of the 4 mana spell could be 3/3, also anti-magic shell could give +1/+2, that is when you compare this cards with cards from other classes but i think Unholy DK doesn't go for a full board aggresive style.
I think the idea of Unholy is to build a small army of tokens and when they die use the corpses with Dead bride or Lord Marrowgar and then you have the free giants and the cherry of the top being Denathrius, you could even run Sylvanas and more Infuse cards.
Maybe Unholy is a more Midrange oriented deck with the potential to go full aggro.

  6. …Ehhhh~…. Not really wild at the idea of adding in these additional gimmicks and requirements to play cards, let alone effectively. Just seems like a whole bunch of clunkiness that's going to immediately be overshadowed by all the decks that don't need corpses in order to work, and there are plenty of those.

  7. I hoped dk could be a contender to denathrius druid but really you have to run two frost just to "make sure you go second" so you can kaethus bran daddy d. You get a few good 1 green cards but the double frost generally doesn't line up with daddy d it just doesn't seem nearly as good as druid and trying to skip the "biscuit" I don't know where that leaves you.

I think it's one strength compared to druid is it's not so weak to the minion destruction blood dk got.

  8. Something I love about Trump is his willingness to be brutally honest and disagree with chat/reddit. It's especially fun when he takes such an extreme position and is proven completely wrong.
His open disdain here is hilarious

  9. I think you are too focuses on triple runes decks. I think some cards are intended for a mix up, like a Nerubian Swarmguard which is 1 unholy and there is a card with 2 blood runes – Blood Tap that with 3 corpses give +2/+2 in hand.

  10. It seems fairly obvious that the Unholy archetype has two different approaches: The first is the swarm deck where you want to get as many things out there as possible, play cards like Grave Strength and win the game. The other based on the number of taunts is going to be a grinder deck where you use taunts to generate as many corpses as you can and then use big threats or generation to slowly grind out the win. And I doubt the cards are going to cross over between those two archetypes much at all. A card like Nerubian Swarmguard's only purpose is to draw the game out as long as possible. It's not an offensive threat at all and it won't get trades but it's there as a wall the opponent has to deal with to get to *you*.

  11. I think one thing you need to keep in mind is that every single DK minion is automatically +1 in terms of value due to generating a corpse, so summoning a bunch of them would probably get out of hand quickly. That being said I do agree that these cards feel underwhelming, which is not necessarily a bad thing, given that I already dread facing a frost DK. I'm a-okay with them not having like 7 powerhouse deck types.

  12. I think it's a mistake to think that Unholy is going to be aggressive, it looks a whole lot more like a midrange list that's shooting for some really strong turns utilizing the corpse from 4-7, with some sparse top end to go over the top in similar match ups.

I feel like most of the player base was baited into using every single applicable rune card in a deck running said runes, but I reckon the system will work more as a way to specialize general archetype deck shells. I'm excited regardless though!!!

  13. 5:49 does the corpse that the ymirjar deathbringer gives off triggers before or after the Deathrattle condition. What this means is that if you have 2 corpses and deathbringer dies do you get the corpse so that the Deathrattle condition is completed

  14. Comparing Ymirjar Deathbringer to rumbletusk breaker? Seriously? Why that card? Why not sludge belcher for example? Because the deathbringer has more stats than sludge belcher for 2 less mana. Oh, you have to spend 3 corpses (you get 1 back, so it's just 2), which is really easy by turn 3. That's a great deal.

  15. I feel like "The Scourge" is a reasonable card, but it would actually be better if it wasnt Legendary, it reminds me "Anyfin Can Happen", and I remember it being a really decisive card for Paladin

  16. They should've made the Unholy spec to play like a Zoo deck or at least have some spells that would cast diseases on enemy minions or the enemy itself. This is just underpowered compared to Frost and Blood.
