  1. cool idea, but I've had enough of indie games doing low poly flat one color textures in games where the art style just doesn't fit. Zombies are supposed to be gross, and gorey, and the weapons realistic, cobbled together and worn out and untextured flat/smooth assets do not work for that. This game needs grit, not to look like legos

  2. It's a cool premise for a game but jeez I'm getting tired of all of these zombie games using literally all of these exact same asset packs. Steam is absolutely flooded with them right now. Not only that but literally half of them have the word "dead" in their game title too.

  3. The fact that every click is accompanied by an actual in-game clicking sound effect is unfortunately a deal-breaker for my misophonic self, unless it can be disabled in options.

  4. New idea: veggie zombies. A bite by one infects a human with a green goo that permeates the skin. The chlorophyll-like substance supercharges them during the day, but at night they're sluggish.

  5. I saw the graphics on the thumbnail showing a character pointing a gun at a couple zombies and though this was going to look pretty cool. The main reason I clicked on the video was because i thought the graphics were going to be somewhat in line with that drawing. Then I started watching the video and boy, was I wrong. Disappointed, too.

There are more than a few zombie games using many of the assets that I'm seeing in this video, and even though some of these games seem fun I'm actually starting to get sick of seeing the same assets over and over. This game, DeadPoly, SurrounDead, the Walking Zombie games, and there are more out there. This game looks decent for what it is but I think it would be worth putting in some effort to find different assets or maybe get an artist on board that can spruce up what you already have so it doesn't look almost exactly like the dozens of other low poly zombie games using these generic assets.

  6. Your opening scene with the unexploded bomb is the main city from the Undead Poly game. I know it perfectly since I setup a base near the unexploded bomb… The developer from Undead Poly was a 1 person team. Though he was hinting about hiring some pro's to help him with the programming. Perhaps one of them floated this X-COM like idea to him…? Good video, by the way. I think I will try my hand at the demo as well.

  7. Splats idea of an early access game is explaining everything from sketchy hit chances to I frames. It’s great if his audience is other game developers, but honestly I wish he would just explain the game, here is what the blue squares mean, here is what the reds mean, the greens.

  8. I feel like the game needs vast amount more movement for AP or some free move and AP for like bonus movement. AND a slight tweak to accuracy. 75% DEFINITELY should be hitting more often than not. The game looks nice but hopefully doesn't go the route of bs accuracy like modern x-com.

  9. The turned base combat killed this for me but otherwise it looks fantastic. Those who enjoy XCOM and games like it are probably in for a treat with Undeadly!

  10. What's interesting in this game XCOM wise is that because he zombies only do melee attacks, cover doesn't matter!

OTOH you do look to the environment to make chokepoints. Seems like it would be very interesting.

  11. looks like the kind of scavenging gameplay i have been wanting from an xcom title for decades (since that e3 FPs demo tbh, rip game with potential using entirely the wrong brand to try and sell an FPS experience).

  12. Some of these assets are used also in DeadPoly and also in Surroundead. I maybe they're marketplace assets but idk "one low poly zombie game is every low poly zombie game"

  13. That overused poly asset pack is killing me. However, it might work in a game like this one where its third person isometric and you don't need to zoom in super close to enjoy. Not a huge deal if the gameplay is on point.
