Now available on my SoundCloud. You can view the published arranged score on Flat.io
Victory was composed by Thomas Bergersen.
He’s a Norwegian #composer and the co-founder of #TwoStepsFromHell. Follow him! I arranged the score using Flat.io and I did small adjustments using Audacity. I basically re-made this song in my own style in a way.
What do you think?
Here’s a little back story to how I got inspired in composing and arranging music. I started composing music when I was in the 6th grade. My childhood friend Owen Capshaw and I were good friends and we still are. Unfortunately we’ve been distant after we both switched schools.
He introduced me to a website called Flat.io where you can digitally compose music. And around this time I also started symphonic band class for the first time.
What really sparked my interest in writing music was a composer named GustavHolst. Our first band concert we played was Mars: The Bringer of War. And ever since then I admired his music. I started looking into his music like his Planets Suite and his Cotswold Symphony. I realised that I was in love with classical music. So I started working on my first song. I called it The Mysterious Microbes Symphony. Now of course it didn’t sound the best😅
But after all it was my first song. And back then I was a HUGE nerd…I still am. Lol..
So after many failed songs even though I was using the methods I learned in my band class. I realised that I needed to look deeper into Music Theory. So I started listening to music and individually writing down the notes I heard. This takes a very long time. But since you can hear the notes in flat.io I was able to reconstruct the song into a completely different score. I started with very simple songs and I started to get more complex. With this method I’m able to arrange music in my own style. But it takes months to do this.
But after I arranged a few songs, it helped me write my own songs. I was open to many styles of music. And that’s how I started writing and arranging music
