Truck 4×4 Battle: UNIMOG vs IVECO vs HINO vs ISUZU

Who takes out the crown for the ‘king of the trucks’? This episode brings all that and so much more, with some great characters, tough tracks a convoy of trucks arrive and challenge Simon to a ‘drive off’. Suddenly it’s Hino, Vs Isuzu Vs Unimog Vs Iveco and Simon has just the right tracks in mind to challenge this group of oversized 4×4 work horses!

The rocky entrance of Soil Pit Track sees two of the trucks swinging off the winch cable whilst the other two clamber up and over the nasty rocks. A second track just a short drive further north brings a set of deep ruts to the party and it’s not long before the winch cable is out again!

Plenty of fun mixed in for good measure, making it a very special session of Life Off Road!

  1. Theres bugger all diference in the real world between any of these light trucks, all are uncomfortable utilitarian shitboxes. The Hino in terms of having a fleet of them previously were pretty reliable workhorses with allison autos, but yeah these things shoudlnt become too mainstream offroad as they destroy trails,

  2. Everybody praising the Mog (sure, a military-grade truck) and nobody praising the little Iveco Daily which passed all the tests without winches and without being a huge beast to drive around. Kudos to Iveco.

  3. Comparing Japanese engineering to European engineering is presumptuous. Where European were three decades ago the Japanese are reaching now. Hence the reason the two European vehicles are better.
