  1. The point of the whole story is about the anger of Achiles. He only finds peace ( after trying all tipes of vengeance) when he FORGIVES the enemy ( King Priam). Only then his heart is pacified… It's a story about forgiveness.👍

  2. If youngest the iliad, you will find that everyone is drawn by the fates. Paris falls inlove with Helen due to a judgement he made on the beauty of three godesses. Hera, athene, and Aphrodite.
Paris couldn't make a choice, Aphrodite offered him the most beautiful woman in the world…Helen. So it was fate.

  3. "Imagine a king who fights his own battles. Wouldn't that be a sight?"
There was such a king in ancient Greece. King Pyrrhus of Epirus (from whom we get the phrase "Pyrrhic Victory").
He fought many single combat duels against the champion of opposing armies, and he never lost one.

  4. 57:12 Achilles leaving don’t mean the Greeks leave, only that the Mermedon elite hoplites do. While the War still rages, Agamemnon will not have the contingent of Achilles’s elite. Edit: (answer) exactly and to be honest seeing as the other nations were there out of honor oaths and nothing else, seeing the Mermedons leave is just that much more demoralizing.

  5. Girl, I love your reaction to this. I cried with you like I do every time I watch this film. Hector is the true King who would lay down his life for his people and for honor and obeyed his father even to death. I can't help but say it, but his actions are like Jesus', that's why we love him so.
    On to the next 🥰

  6. "Achilles wants immortality. Immortality, my foot!" – KSO, that's a very good pun with respect to his Achilles Heel.

The Mythology states when Achilles was born his mother Thetis (a sea nymph) held him by the heel and dipped him in the River Styx. The result made him invulnerable everywhere but his heel. Paris of Troy did shoot him in the heel (it was guided by Apollo) and he died.

  7. The myth goes that there was wedding that the goddess of discord (Erin) was not invited. She threw a golden apple of discord to Paris and select one of 3 goddess (Hera athena aphrodite) as the fairest. Paris choosed the later. War was made because of this

  8. In the illiad, the gods are involved, and the implication is that Aphrodite makes Helen go with Paris. In the end of the proper story, when it's all over, Helen returns to Menelaus. Literally no character here is portrayed like their namesake in the Illiad.

  9. DID YOU NOTICE THAT? ….. After landing on the beach, Achilles beheaded the statue of Apollo. Apollo was in a kneeling position holding a bow.

At the end paris hit achilles with an arrow from his bow when achilles was kneeling just like the statue of apollo.
