  1. Not supporting Crema anymore. Not my type of game and not the type of team I can stand behind. Hope they learn from their mistakes but with the unwillingness to listen to feedback I doubt it.

  2. Neither, you can tell they are burned out and aren't putting as much love as they did before. But I honestly don't blame them when large portion of their playerbase is whiny pokemon fans who want a 30-person studio to overthrow the largest grossing company in the world, because they got the expectation that the game would get infinite islands and temtems when Crema never mentioned an ever-expanding creature roster. Content can come in a lot of forms. There is nothing wrong with a "quality over quantity" approach on their roster. Specially when most of the people who see the appeal in a growing roster would come onto the game, catch the new 5 mons in a day and stop playing again. Why do you think Pokemon doesn't do an MMO themselves? Why do you think they did the dex cut and now include older pokemon in DLC? Because that development cycle is not profitable, AT ALL. That's why GF puts new mons like the upcoming masks in DLC. But oh, why doesn't Crema do DLC then? Because for some reason the people who dont see any issue in spending 120$ for the same game twice will say that Crema is greedy for this.

As well as people whining that it's "too PvP focused"…okay? so WHAT if it is? Aren't all other 99% of games in monster taming genre almost exclusively PvE?
You ask a pokemon fan about PvE and they mention "shiny hunting, gym rematches, raids, etc" okay? Temtem has those? Even challenge modes like nuzlocke. But nope, not enough for PvE people. I've learned from watching the Temtem community that PvE people are far more entitled than PvP people are. And that's coming from someone who hates PvP in any game. It sucks that their passion project is called a "mistake" by everyone who always thinks as gamers that they know better. I don't blame Crema for not wanting to associate much with this audience after they finish KS promises.

  3. Temtem has an identity crises it’s an MMO on some things but isn’t an MMO on others. If they do want to make a sequel then it should be a single player title since TemTem showdown exists and they can just update it to add the new monsters and make balance changes accordingly

  4. sequel? hell no. the way it was padded out, the way the EXP curve was slashed, everything about the Story experience for this game soured me and my friends outlook on this game. HOWEVER, I am not beyond thinking an expansion and some PVE modes are out of the question, and Temtem has some saving graces like its battle system. the one thing I can give temtem is that the battle system is actively balanced by the devs, and the way moves work is nice too. ultimately though, I am not holding out that they would do either, especially since they took as long as they did to put out the game piece by piece.

  5. I am still waiting for the offline single player mode before the servers get shutdown due to lack of support and players. I mean I bough an online pass jus so I could play his game. I enjoyed wha I did play, by a he same one I could no help feel the lack of need to playing after of weeks. It’s been months since I last played it. I feel guilty but at same time I don’t it’s strange.

  6. Temtem devs are more focused on their personal desires than about anything the players want. Anyone that has played enough hours of the game and read through player feedback can see how evident this is.

  7. Temtem legimitately has one of the best, if not, the best pvp battle systems in this genre. I absolutely love the fact that there's no RNG like flinches, crits, etc. It's just such a shame that there's such a low playerbase because people leave knowing that there likely won't be any new Temtem added to the game (aside from the final Mythical). Honestly even if they go LoL route where they encorporated 1 new tem every 3-4 months, I think that would bring a lot of new players in and previous players back. Hopefully the anime could bring more exposure to Temtem and attract more people.

  8. Im not trying to be negative, because I truly did enjoy my time wirh Temtem, but if Crema decides to make a sequel they must change their design philosophy. I understand maintaining an internal vision for a game, but the devs have seemingly took on a philosophy of "we know what you want more than you do". I used to give props to the devs for how good they communicated with the community but as time has gone on it seems that they have become a bit bitter. If they decided on making a sequel then all of their economy decisions that HURT gameplay would also be in vein. As far as im concerned, this studio is not ready to make a good expansion, much less a sequel, until some stuff changes.

  9. Temtem had probably the highest potential of any Monster Catching game out there and devs just choose to milk the game with battlepass and cosmetic store (c'mon, $20 for a mount or a outfit) and focus on their personal desires and whims instead of what the playerbase wanted/wants.

The game at first was a MMO, then when they noticed that they would need to produce more and more content for the game and then it was not a MMO anymore, the game hyper focused on PvP making the endgame atrocious, player feedback is ignored and dev communication either don't happen or happens in a extreme defensive manner to which they don't see their mistakes and shortcomings and don't try to make anything to change it. And with the director talking about how players have too high of a expectation (for wanting 1 or 2 Tems per year and more PvE content) and how the next game would definitely not be a game like Temtem, I hope they don't make a sequel instead hope that a better studio comes around and makes one game closer that people wanted.

And let's not forget, Crema made at least around US$20.000.000 before taxes in total, so the excuse of "they are just a small studio" don't work really that well, if they wanted they could use the IP to expand with the right decisions the game would be a lot bigger and the studio would become a lot bigger, just look at Deep Rock Galactic or Larian Studios (which started with Divinity and now made Baldur's Gate 3)

  10. Their decision to not add new TemTems honestly baffles me…they wanna be an MMO but don’t wanna commit to the making of new and interesting content and only want the benefits of cosmetics without the work that makes people wanna come back to shell out on it, plus the PvP is REALLY hard to get into due to the ludicrous breeding system…honestly after beating the campaign, unless you’re REALLY into grinding there’s just no reason to keep playing, which is a shame cuz TemTem was pretty good up till that point…it’s just a shame Crema all but abandoned it outside of milking it dry with the battlepass. I doubt whatever game they make will be worth the way they’ve treated TemTem, but suppose only time will tell.

  11. i stopped playing in the middle of the first season pass… the whole game is just about pvp (i am a pve player), and my most wanted change (switch off of combat animations) wasnt even planned at that time. If they dont start focusing on pve, i will keep spending my time (and money) elsewhere, sadly. I really loved the new ideas – especially taking out the RNG factor.

  12. Honestly as someone who played through the entire story. I like everything they added and is in there. And with it being MMO I think they should just keep adding on. If it wasn't online then ya I'd say for a sequel

  13. Temtem is crazy grindy, and not in a fun way. I barely want to spend my ingame money because it just feels like a waste. Why are clothes more expensive than home accessories. Barely a way to make money

  14. I currently do not have Temtem because as much as I like the monster taming genre, Temtem's biggest barrier to entry is the cost (and the initial cost of it is not unreasonable but it's up there for MMOs, even compared to classic and similarly complex ones like Wizard/Pirate 101 or Animal Jam. I played those kinds of games for cheaper or free). I think that they would do well to either lower or eliminate that initial cost towards the game in favor of releasing more battle passes and content because Temtem defies a lot of the expected cost to entry for traditional MMOs anyway (more forgivable when it was newer, but now it has to make a choice to keep the community it has or expand it for profit). The main issue is that they will need to put content behind paywalls or give a higher incentive to have people buy things. However, if they make the battle passes cheaper or free, there is a chance it might be harder to get more people in the door without regular content updates, because that is the way successful MMOs get a community and their money.

How I see it, the above is the main issue with Temtem. The players who have a lot of hours put into MMOs but mostly play them solo might not see incentive to buy it, and the players who are loyal to the game now might not want to play an MMO that doesn't provide content updates every so often. I think Temtem should have either implemented more MMO elements in the first place or not advertise so heavily into the MMO aspect as it did when launching. That's just my two cents being a non-Temtem player who has sunk hours into MMOs and monster tamer games as both a teenager and adult.

  15. I feel like Temtem being an MMO is killing itself. They are definitely paying more money in servers then they are earning with temtem. I feel that if they just made it singleplayer with no servers it could've been better. The battlepasses and premium shops leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I haven't gotten past the 3rd gym because my co-op partner abandoned me lol, but I plan to play it again sometime soon. But right as I finish the story + achievements I'm done with the game. I don't care to grind end game shit. Monster taming games shouldnt be MMOs imo..

  16. I was excited to play through Temtem with a friend (who I'd played some Pokemon games with to the extent they supported multiplayer). However, constant network issues and general jankiness of the game made it really unsatisfying. And the multiplayer elements were only barely acknowledged or handled in the game. The 2v2 battles were fun, but it was awkward having to be in the same area/not being able to move between screens compared to the person you were playing co-op with, while not really being able to interact with NPCs in a way that acknowledges multiplayer, and with some really awful latency to do much of anything. And things like temtem breeding have a combination of some cool features I'd love to see in other monster trainer games, but also some features that seem to be put in place to encourage people to play more, spend money on in-game purchases, etc. Also, we've all seen how games like Pokemon from gen 5 onward, despite being ostensibly more single-player oriented, have massively suffered from services being deprecated/discontinued. Yet, with Pokemon games there is generally a continuity from older releases to the present where you can transfer pokemon at least. I would be very afraid to get super into Temtem or invest in my character/team, because as soon as the developers go under or decide they want to do something else, it's ALL gone. There's no offline content whatsoever to speak of; everything you do is at the mercy of their servers. MMO elements are neat and all, but I don't anticipate that Temtem will ever have the staying power of something like Guild Wars 2 or World of Warcraft. And with the PvE elements being pretty lackluster it just doesn't seem worth it. Most of the time it seemed like I just had a vague awareness of other people running around with limited ability or reason to interact with them. I won't be playing any Temtem under this model. If they could come up with a way to support a single-player, offline mode and also support the MMO-ish features, then I would definitely play!
