Trial begins for former officer Adam Coy in deadly shooting of Andre Hill

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — After years of anticipation and multiple delays, the trial of former Columbus police officer Adam Coy is set to begin Monday morning at the Franklin County Common Pleas Courthouse.

The case centers around the deadly shooting of Andre Hill, an unarmed man, which has prompted significant changes within the city and the Columbus Police Department.

Body camera footage captured the moments when Coy interacted with Hill in the middle of the night in a garage. Coy and another officer had responded to a disturbance call at a home on Oberlin Drive on the northwest side of Columbus.
