Transplanting corals onto Zoe – Living Sea Sculpture

Small fragments of Agaricia tenuifolia corals being tension fit so they can fuse with the mineralizing substrate. Hopefully they will thrive and continue to transform the sculpture into a resilient, biodiverse micro-ecosystem. Adrián Andrés Morales G., principal biologist of the Cozumel Coral Conservatory (CozCC) is guiding volunteers of the Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program (CCRRP). These fragments have been collected from broken pieces in the area.
