The Young Girl Who Was Killed By Her Millionaire Boyfriend | Anna Uncovered

The Young Girl Who Was Killed By Her Millionaire Boyfriend | Anna Uncovered

Some cases make no sense at all and continue to puzzle people years after they go cold.

This is Inge Lotz. She was a bright and prominent student who everyone was sure would take the world by storm.

But in March 2005, she was found dead inside her high-security student apartment. This was shocking on a myriad of levels, but the shock did not end with Inge’s death.

A strange clue led to her millionaire boyfriend’s arrest, but a sensationalized 9-month trial led to his acquittal.

Did his money earn his freedom? Or was he framed in the first place?

Inge Lotz’s case is an emotional rollercoaster, almost two decades later. To this day, there are more questions than answers.

This is the full story of Inge Lotz and her bizarre death.

  1. Seriously, just come to think of it, who would keep a hammer in his/her car? And that too, an insurance office worker.
The police could certainly interrogate Fred on the hammer motives.

Second, if the fingerprint is lifted from glass (not DVD), so what about the glass motives.
Questions like, "did Fred visit Inge during that day or any recent days?" And surely the reason behind the visit. After all, Fred deemed as a loyal catholic meaning no physical touch before marriage. So, how is it possible that they would spend time in a room/house together, only two of them?

Third, the sink! Forensics can actually do a lot about it. No further examining on it. Pure sad, indeed.

  2. "The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them." -Denis Waitley

  5. At 22:25 if you look at the security camera when he comes in and when he leaves it looks like he's wearing different colored pants. I hope that's not the case because they should have found that out right away.

  6. Maybe I'm naive but I honestly don't fully believe Fred did it. I mean on one hand I do but then there's also the possibility that he didn't. I know being overly possessive and if I recall right abusive are often the well known signs for a potential murder but then that's not always the case and I also know it's easy to say that the real murderer got away free because his family's rich but again, sometimes that might not be the case. I don't know. I don't want to rule him out completely but I do think we should still look at the other two suspects just to not possibly falsely accuse the wrong person. Don't go by me though. There's another separate murder case where I do believe the suspect did it but a lot of people believe he didn't so what do I know?

  8. I'm legitimately shocked at a lot of the comments by people who seem so sure Fred is the killer and don't see the obvious effort the police made to frame him. In a lot of countries where tourism is a big part of their economy (like South Africa) there is SIGNIFICANT pressure put on local police forces to "solve" cases like this at any cost. The government doesn't care who is behind bars as long as they can convince the international community that they don't have a murderer on the loose. The fact that experts testified that the police case was terribly flawed is not evidence that his parents bribed anyone. And Fred being a jerk doesn't mean that he's a murderer. The fact that the police ignored some drug dealer out there who said he was there when she died and new specific details that weren't made publicly known by the police is enough call the motives of the authorities into question. But the fact that they fudged evidence like the fingerprint should alarm everyone.

  9. I feel like Fred hired someone who came under the pretense of a construction worker (I think there wasn't just one person who killed her, if she was hit 47 times, she would've screamed or would've done something to defend herself but she didn't or more like couldn't, because of multiple people grabbing her) the power out was pre-planned and the fact that Fred didn't let Inge's uncle identify her body makes it quite obvious that there was some sort of evidence that would've led to him. Lastly, the delay in starting this case and the irregularities in evidence and witnesses was either a result of sheer irresponsibility from the police or the power of influence and money. And why are we forgetting Fred's friend who didn't have an alibi? Unrequited love is a good enough reason for revenge.

Either way, a young soul left too soon and in such an unjust way.

  10. Knowing our justice system, probably didn't cost much to get him off. Murder rate in South Africa is about 56 people a day. No one bats an eye anymore. It's just getting worse. 2000's was VERY safe here. Compared to now.

  11. Unless there’s a cold blooded killer that just enjoys killing without any sexual motivation or even theft, the only possible suspect is Fred. He did do it, even confessed to the pastors who tried to cover some evidence up or even clean certain areas of her body for him. I would focus on those two and try to extract evidence by using a detective or close friend to tape the truth.

  12. Terribly sad case. Especially when the police works from the inside out of a case when the make so many rookie murder investigation mistakes. You don't have so many officers walking around an unsecured scene, not questioning all construction workers, the fingerprint lift lift. That's why a case worked from inside after mistakes made totally messes up a case. It would be a horrible injustice if he was guilty and got away with it all because outside looking in looks like a frame. Poor girl will never get justice with what the police are working with. Completely sad and utterly unacceptable no justice will come unless enough signatures. It's an unsolved, unprotected with conviction case. Ridiculous won't be open and the right person whomever that is will never have to pay for this brutal crime. Just beyond comprehensible.
