  1. The director again today debunked the ridiculous rumors, I'm not worried about that.(surprised you've bought into them) The title could be better, but ultimately it's the least important thing.

  2. The leaks about the disastrous screentests of all endings they tested bodes very bad for this movie.
Passing the torch is one thing (could have been his son), but if it is the case that all tested endings aim to erase Indy from history so that he may be replaced by a "bestest evar" bland actress… it will probably end the character right then and there.

  3. People seem to be worried that the movie is gonna have young Indy die before all of the other movies and completely retcon everything. If that's how it goes down, then yeah that'll really suck and sour the entire film series.

  4. Indiana–once a tough, awesome hero–is now being turned into an idiot while the strong, empowered, Mary-Sue-sidekick one-ups him on everything. We've seen this before, Disney, in your Star Wars trilogy when you destroyed Luke Skywalker's character, not to mention all the terrible Disney+ Marvel shows. Thanks, but no thanks. I'm not seeing this movie in the theaters

  5. The Indeana Jones movies has always had the adventure center around a prominent historical artifact/mystery and "the dial of destiny" sounds like something made up in 5 minutes and doesn't seem to have any historical/religious elements to it.

  6. I am going to disagree. I think they absolutely SHOULD have Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones pass the torch to a new character to carry on the legacy. So I am rather optimistic on this one. I don't think this is a quick cash grab, because if they wanted to do a cash grab they wouldn't be making an Indiana Jones movie after Crystal Skull didn't do as well as they had hoped. I think this is going to be an end to the Indiana Jones character, to finish his story.

  7. C'mon, they (not Disney) literally made a remake of the 3 Stooges with three new guys a few years ago. If that don't tell ya nothing is sacred, nothing does. The next step will be to get people to play actual dead actors to play roles in movies starring that actor. "Hey, have you seen "Mrs. Doubtfire 2? The guy who plays Robin Williams is great!" Sheesh…

  8. Indiana Jones lends itself to a James Bond Effect…Every 3-5 Films a New Actor Comes in…George Lucas started the Series as a Homage to Saturday Serials at the Movies of his Youth.

  9. Ironically enough I think this movie will have the opposite problem that Crystal Skull did. Whereas I thought the plot for Crystal Skull was pretty good, I think the direction (especially when it came to the action in the second half) was really not great. The movie took every goofy element in the script and turned it up to 11. I get that they were doing a tribute to campy 50s B movies, but its taken to such an extreme that it becomes criminally goofy and thats probably what put people off.
I think Dial of Destiny will have the complete opposite problem. The direction and action looks really good if the trailer is any indication, and Mangold has a good track record with stuff like Logan. I just dont really have any confidence in the writing or the central macguffin of the film, especially because the movie has no involvement from George Lucas.

  10. If this movie erases Indy from time and replaces him with a new character? Then Crystal Skull is going to get propelled upward in public opinion. The Sequel Trilogy did the same thing to the Prequel Trilogy.

  11. I think the Elephant in the room we forgetting if we ask ourselves why? Why they doing this … again? Ford has to take the wrap as he's the one who read the script – signed up – and cashed a cheque … (which he openly admits he loves doing) for someone who bangs on about loving this character if this movie is awful – his bad – let's be honest no Director or writer would turn down the chance to do Indy … but Ford should be the quality control … down to him if it stinks!

  12. I'll probably wait a week or two to see it so I can see a few reviews first. My trust level with Disney in general is too low to give this movie the benefit of the doubt.

  13. The trailer was decent but it didn't really feel like Indiana Jones. And its going to be Disney Indiana Jones. Which means they are probably going to find a way to try to fix what Lucas did, and destroy Indiana Jones in the process because it doesn't need fixing.
