About the game: “In Tortuga – A Pirate’s Tale, it’s time to see if ye truly have what it takes to become the greatest pirate of the Caribbean! Set sail on the vast and beautiful Caribbean Sea as players commence their journey with their sights on eternal gold and glory. Choose from 18 unique ship types and customize distinct features from the flag and weaponry to the hull and figurehead. It’s a vast world out there, but you are never truly alone, and players will encounter historical pirate captains who they must decide is friend or foe. Take on trading convoys and settlements in tactical turn-based battles to relieve them of the burden of wealth, and then use your (stolen) riches to upgrade your formidable fleet. With a mighty fleet and enough gold, you might be able to keep your crew happy. But be warned! You are an elected captain, after all, and it is your duty to maintain your crew’s morale, or else mutiny could be on the horizon…”

Reminds me of the old Sid Meier's Pirate's. Which is a good thing! Definitely a winning gameplay formula for this kind of game. Good stuff, a series would be cool.

Did you never play Port Royale 4? Tortuga is set not only in the same period, but uses the same game engine. However Port Royale 4 has more game mechanics above just being a Pirate Captain (you still can though) It's more of a Management/city builder/trading, strategy game. Tortuga is a nice complimentary game to play both as they offer two distinctive 'age of sail' experiences.
a shame that this good concept is round based instead of real time thats not cool and a nogo for me
I've liked, watched it 3 times and shared it on twitter…I do hope you consider doing a few more adventures. Would like to see your strategies in how you build up your fleet and what kind of tasks you do (looting, trading etc…)

Well, I made it 13:10 / 49:20 on this game before it started to make me sleepy. I guess its the stop and go or turn based style of gameplay that's kiiling the excitement of combat in the game for me sadly. It's not you, it's me.

Looks like a better version of port royal 4. Which makes sense since it's the same developer. Pr4 is fun, but gets repetitive quickly. Hopefully this game is more fleshed out. It certainly looks better

battle turn system looks terrible, sid meyers did it better back in 2004 such a shame
