“You are playing Japan! Use more torpedoes!” is a common refrain and well, sure why not! We have some ‘new’ cruiser hulls that seem ideal for mounting some boom sticks. Not only that but we bring our wars to a close and start the process of modernising the fleet.

  1. BrotherMunro….mate. I was yelling at my screen like someone's Dad would at a football match on the telly during that first ambush. 🤣🤣 "Left column hard to port!" should have been the action there. Your right column of destroyers couldn't fire their torpedoes since there were friendlies in the firing arc. Luckily, it worked out in the end. I've got the rest of the episode to watch yet, but I had to make a comment.

  2. I will never understand the devs of this game and their design choices. Like for example, there are submenus for the main guns split into centerline and side mounts, but for some unknown reason you can't have submenu that let's you choose between Mark I to Mark V of a gun. Like what the hell is with this archaic UI and game design as a whole!? Completely user unfriendly.

  3. I've found the game to be a lot more difficult than what it was a year ago.

    Seeing your progress of expanding the Japanese Empire reminds me of my progress back in the day. Haven't succeeded in repeating it

  4. Wait till he gets the Japanese Modern Heavy Cruiser 3 & 4. Those come with slots in the hull specifically for Torpedoes. On the CA 4 hull you can get up to 6 torpedo launchers per side giving you up to 30 torpedos in a single launch.

  5. I feel that this mod validates torpedo heavy destroyers.
    Might lean that way on the next DD hull. A cavalcade of torpedo DDs in the vanguard slinging a dozen torps each would really smash up formations and capital ships.

  6. @BrotherMunro: Not sure if you have the means for that, but may I suggest that you play some more traditional japanese tunes for the refit montages etc. since that's the nation you play as?
    Not actually relevant, but would increase the atmosphere (at least for me).

  7. I think they should add float planes that can provide reconnaissance, spotting, and limited torpedo attack as well as make a reason to mount anti aircraft armament.
    I’m sure people have suggested this before.
