That looks like walls combo without freed from the real to make infinite mana with the defenders and then have an invoker or something to burn the opponent out. $3 though on one card or so is a lot for this list eh.

When it comes to Virulent Sliver, putting a poison on a player triggers after dealing combat damage (And thus using the stack and being able to be responded to). Toxic gives poison counters along side combat damage (Not using the stack when doing so).
It's like the difference between a creature with Lifelink vs a creature enchanted with Spirit Link/Armadillo Cloak
No clue what elves is priced at for pauper but I built it and I love it pauper is fun it's tied for my favorite format it's neck and neck with legacy.
