What is Hebrews 4:8 is really saying ? It seems like it says that there is no new day of rest coming. And the King James version says Jesus instead of Joshua.

The book of Hebrews does have different tone to it. It has a different from the regular books Paul wrote.

I quite enjoy your disgussions, but can't help but see the hypocracy.
Often you are both known to patronise very delicately other commentries and the papacy however all too often point to Allen G White.
Point to Paul, Peter, and altimately Jesus. Not some woman who has so many false proficies and teachings which are reasonable but not quite on the mark.
Point to the bible, your knowledge is very good….stop pointing to Allen

Gather all the evidence that defines God's people from Genesis through Revelation. This should include all evidence from any Prophetic messenger that agrees with the Word.
Sorry but I see only those who followed the Almighty's instructions safely protected. The life of the Messiah showed us "The Way" in Hebrew there is no evidence of Church as we know it today. The Greek has no reference for the present structure of what we see is many different forms of diversity in doctrines.
The Greek name was an Assembly of believers who meet together as those who had a common belief in the teachings of the Messiah.
If you search out the writings of Ellen G. White she has the best description of God's church/assembly.
She wrote God's church is NOT a building! She was very clear God's true church is not an organization with heads of leadership as we see today. If you study your church history you would learn the SDA Church was one of the very last Churches to approve the job title of Pastor put in charge of the church's organization which includes teaching and managing the members that meet in a building owned/controled by the Corporate Church.
Before the members voted to approve this office the General Conference President wrote an open letter to the membership warning what would happen if they moved forward. Every point of warning he raises has been fulfilled to the smallest detail.
Did Jesus invite the unsaved to the Temple to hear the Word of God and be saved? Did Jesus ever invite anyone to join or come to the temple?
Jesus and others did not preach to join the temple and be saved. They preached the "Kingdom of God" and explained their citizenship is recorded in the Book of Life!
Ellen was very clear about the present group of people who call themselves Christians and believe in Jesus as the Church Militant. This membership is no key to the doors of the Holy City.
Brothers and sisters Ellen White said the True Israelites are made up of an invisible group. You can't find that group looking in a church. These persons are Born Again and are invisible.
Oh, some may be sitting in the different Churches today in July 2022.
Jesus made it very clear in John chapter three that if any man (or woman) desires to enter the Kingdom of Heaven they must be Born Again.
Does this mean confess your sins, pray, be baptized, and join a church? Answer: NO!
We must be Born Again of the Water and Fire. This is not a one-time event! It is a daily event that is renewed every morning! We darn not begin a new day without our daily bread (Jesus in us). Jesus is the "Living Water" we must walk every day as Jesus walked with His Father's guidance. Every word, step, act, and deed was directed by the Father's Spirit for Jesus to follow. The Fire is the Spirit the Father sends and the Father, Son, and Spirit must occupy our entire temple every second. This can only happen when 100% surrender. This is the battle for eternal life. Surrender and stay out of Father's way and keep your eyes stayed on Jesus, not the Church! Are we Protesting Christians or are we Bond Servants of the Highest Almighty Father?
Do you dare trust your salvation to the Church? You know better, the Corporate Church will save no man. I must be guided by Jesus. The church is led by men of flesh. We all are flesh don't follow me. Test Everything and be willing to test it again.
So you go to Church to get fed with God's Word? Then why are God's men not reading the Word of God? You might be luck to hear 6 or 8 verses. Israelites stood on their feet in reverence during the reading of the scroll until the reading ended hours later. Today, count the passages read in your ears. Men are told to become professional speakers and do they think they can speak better than the "Living Word"?
If that wasn't bad enough almost all church members go home and starve all week until they return to church next week. Like birds in a nest, they wait to be fed and never grow up to be able to feed themselves!
Please return to your First Love and pick up the greatest love letter ever written to mankind. You may not be prepared or have enough Oil of the Holy Spirit. How is your Lamp burning today? Is is bright or about to go out?
Please eat the good bread the Father has given us to be properly prepared.
Pray without ceasing and set aside the things of this earth.
The time of probation is very soon to close and you will not know that it closed unless you study or are seeking knowledge promised in these last days. Today, the church has moved their teaching of when probation is to close and this is one point William Miller had 100% correct, except the correct time was hidden.
May you be encouraged all heaven is trying to help us get home safe but are we paying attention?

The Last time I checked, it was the holy spirit who guide us into all truth, and is going to show us things to come. Why do we Need Ellen white to Interpret the bible? Thats the work of the Holy Spirit, to teach us. Why not Encourage the brethren to Read the Word of God?. ALONE WITH GOD.

I disagree that the King James is purely a Protestant translation and here is good evidence. The papacy boasts that the Trinity is the foundation of all their doctrines, and they have covered up the truth of Father, Mother (her name is Jerusalem and "is the Mother of us all" Gal 4:26 (a city cannot be a mother but cities are named for important persons.) She was the dove that descended to give Him wisdom at His baptism, and She spoke through Him when He said He was going to the Father–She said, I will not leave you ORPHANOS is the Greek word that Catholic translators needed to obscure to make an all-male Godhead with male Father, Son & Holy Spirit, so they translated orphanos as "comfortless" to deceive us. An orphan means neither father nor mother, she came as our spiritual mother to make intercession in our hearts as Romans 8:26 shows, but comfortless is taking away from Scripture and they may have their names taken from the Book of Life.
