Tiger Taming – Episode 45 – Dreadnought Improvement Project Japanese Campaign

The British have a new toy and the AI actually seems to have done a decent job! Can’t have that! But as well we do need more ships and whilst a heavy cruiser is a temptation the appearance of the new Tiger class, and the elusive American battleships, I instead build a variation on the Akagi’s but with bigger guns.

  1. I'm surprised that the US and UK haven't sued for peace yet, silly buggers. Also, the IJN 12-in BC's have been doing yeoman work. I guess they're wondering where their bigger-gunned brethren have got off to, though. 🙂

  2. Yo Brother Munro, that is a mean looking Cruiser you have oin the making. a flotilla of about 8-9 of those monsters could win you the game. However, I have a suggestion for you that could make a ton of difference for you. As you were scrolling through your fleet, I noticed that you still have a ton of very old ships still in your arsenal. While you have the moneys to keep them afloat, they are still dragging bucks out of your economy that you could use elsewhere (say…in the constructyin of more modern and effective vessels). You should take a look through your ships and decommission the onrs that are no longer viable at this point of the game. Mainly your craft from the early 1900's-1920's. This will free up a lot of room for other ships t in your shipyards and will no longer leech off your Naval budget. While still giving you room to add better ships to your fleet. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work. Later.

  3. Towers with built-in space for funnels are usually much heavier while offering very little extra stats. Wouldn't it make sense if these towers offered small bonus to funnel capacity for funnels installed in their slots? I'm thinking 10-15% more funnel cap, just an incentive to use them instead of deck funnels + most efficient small tower.

  4. I think you probably already know this but I'll say it anyway.
When you hover the cursor over an enemy fleet you get to see the red line showing it's direction of travel and the termination point, that's the best place to send your fleet to engage the enemy fleet you chose, this method is almost always guaranteed a meeting at that termination spot.

  5. 6:16: I think if you took the time to scroll down the Log (bottom left for those who don't know the game) you'd get a better idea of what your enemies were up to. For instance the USN is laying down a number of Mullany class heavy cruisers, which means they will have a few new heavy cruisers of a new class in about a year and a half.
