In the case of the Vegas store owner. Why is the backend of the store seen any different than someone's front door? You are an unauthorized person there to do no good, the dude is trapped behind the counter with his means of escape to the back room blocked by some dumbass kid who made a very poor choice. it may have been excessive, but I don't feel like it was wrong. As for the 9 cops unloading on one guy. There is video footage the dude had a gun and had fired it earlier on in the chase. The officers have no idea when he ran if he was still armed or not. He turned and they lit him up it's over when the potential threat is neutralized. Period.

I'm genuinely conflicted on the stabbing incident. I'm more than understanding of self defence and being robbed (been on the end of that myself), but this is borderline. In the UK our self defence laws rely on reasonable force along with fear of imminent harm to oneself or others. That last part would probably pass in this case, but the first part? Perhaps not.
