This wasn't The Plan, SOLO Remote Island Camping

This is part one the vlog version of the time I went out and camped on a remote island with some home made lures, had a real adventure and made a film that won a festival… Hope you enjoy it 😊

  1. tProof that you'd do anything, no matter how painful or stupid, for ratings? Seriously though, you are not out there to catch fingers, you are out to catch fish. And lastly, did you Iikijimi and bleed your hand? Serve it fried in panko? Take care of that injury mate, that looked brutal! Make sure to put iodine on that…or at least cupi-mayo.

  2. As a Musky fisherman out here in Ontario Canada, and removing a handful large trebles out of peoples hands… Well done. We consider it lucky when its not still hooked into the fish and your hand at the same time haha. Might want to consider putting a pair of Knipex Compact Bolt Cutters in the boat bag brother

  4. So, what you are saying Rod, instead of me spending $250 of my hard earned on various lures and shite, I could have just chopped up that old chair I have in the shed and used a bit of old paint I have to dress it and Bobs your Auntie (assuming Bob identifies as a woman of course?
There are some things I’d rather not know.
    Cracking vid Rod.

  5. You sir are a savage. And the old boy lures etc are amazing. That first aid kit sucks though mate. The trips you do you need an absolute top notch kit with ALL the good stuff in it. 🔥🔥

  6. I'm with @cornelisgraper8678, Respect! Geez, impressive self control, Rod! Gotta admit, the lures worked excellent with a double catch at the end! 🤭 Hope you are okay and healing well. 🙏🙏😎

  7. 11:29 the back rest of the chair immediately jumped out to be and screamed “wounded/sick fish twitched on the surface” with its curved shape. Nev’s fishing channel in Western Port Bay in Victoria has great success with the curved lures twitched on the surface.

  8. 36:33 so this is the second time I’ve seen you not being careful enough and getting hooked. After the first time I thought you’d always carry a small bolt cutter (they’re barely bigger than a pair of pliers) to snip that whole barb off, you didn’t learn that lesson.
