  1. Hey, good reaction. As you say this song is still relevant, probably in more ways than you appreciate. Check out the cover by Mitch Tambo, where he keeps the theme but changes the implied story. I won't spoil it by telling you how, but it's just as relevant and just as powerful.

  2. WOW that was exciting to watch s you rediscovering The Voice Of Australia. John Farnham is a living Legend and one of the most loved entertainers ever in Austrlaia. His voice is epic. One of the best in the world. Even this song stands the test of time just as it is. 80/90's style or not. It just would not be the same if it was remastered. I hope you will chase a little further down the Farnsey Rabbit hole which has so much depth. 6 consecutive decades of number 1 hits in Aus to choose from and so much of it has been recorded live from his many many concerts in high quality.
If you like husky voices there is another Aussie you need to discover in Jimmy Barnes check out a collaboration between Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham singing When something is wrong with my Baby.
Thanks again I've just subscribed and I. Sure lots of Aussies will also be jumping on board as John is just that popular ..even now

  3. Now you have 5 consecutive decades of John’s number one hits to learn. Watch him sing Help at this same concert. The Beatles wrote but John showed them how to sing it.
Get well John and if you get a bit down. Think of all of us singing to you, that is depressing.

  4. John and his band prim and proper? Nah 😂. He jokes around, tells jokes, has nicknames for his band, jokingly tells the audience to nick off or shutup – he’s hysterically funny lol. Oh his mother in law jokes, lol, only used to say them as she loved it. Proper ? No way 😂 Sing brilliantly with all the antics, absolutely yes. Glad it bought back happy memories for you 😊

  5. Fantastic reaction. Loved joining you reminiscing. Try Help with the MSO, its even better. And yes, the bagpipes are a tad overdone, but they appeared at every big event. Didn't even question that we did the Highland fling, bagpipes and all, in primary scool, not until i moved to Europe and wondered wtf we were doing with the highland fling as a part of our culture down under.

  6. An Australian icon who emerged as a teenager in the 1960s. This was the middle of the 80's – it was all about the hair! Hahahaha! The bigger the better! John is, as everyone else has said, PHENOMENAL! A legendary live performer who can sing any genre from rock to opera and is a superb human being to boot! John has a box of microphone tricks (they don't always work out as planned) from throwing the mike stand to throwing the mike itself from one hand to the other. He has just had cancer surgery at 73. Get well Farnsy.💕

  7. Do HELP Live with the MSO next! From this exact concert. It's iconic and has wonderful crowd participation. Watching you suddenly recognise the song and re-live your childhood was so entertaining!

  8. How can you make something that's perfect better……..I ask you? If you watch just before he threw the mic stand to the side, he through it in the air and caught it, then threw it to the side. As I said perfect. John's the GOAT❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

  9. His voice is phenomenal. That's why he is called The Voice. He's a legend, the GOAT. He can sing any genre and his concerts are amazing. Check out Help with the MSO, Long way to the top with the MSO, or When The War Is Over (Live) [The Last Time: Melbourne 2003] when he was 54. He's still been pulling huge crowds and singing great (with Queen) at 70. Right now we're all praying for his recovery from cancer surgery.❤❤❤

  10. You’re about to go down a gigantic rabbit hole with John Farnham!! He’s Australia’s favourite son and he’s NEVER had a bad day at the office. You should check out Help – the Beatles song with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and also Something is Wrong With My Baby with Jimmy Barnes, just to dip your toe in!! You’re welcome! 😂
