Sounds like he's just frustrated he could barely keep up with the car ahead of him for position, but that's easily the best place to overtake him in that section of the track.
He's right, you should have passed him later, on raidillon perhaps! haha I tell gt3 or lmp2 to go race vrs or the lmp2 series if they want their own race. I wish lmdh's had their own series…

Nah he's just frustrated and venting. You didn't ruin an overtaking opportunity, he was going to be behind throughout that corner regardless. If he had racecraft he'd slow a bit more to get a better launch out of la source and catch up on radillion / eau rouge
You didn't do anything wrong. Not by the rules or driver etiquette or anything else. You are in different classes, but you were still racing for overall position. That fact actually also comes to his defense when he held the middle of the track going into the bus stop. If you were lapping him, etiquette would say he should help facilitate the pass, but instead he had every right to defend. Despite that, you were still patient and waited to overtake safely and cleanly. If he'd had better situational awareness, he could have set you up to pass while getting a good run out of La Source. Then he could have tucked in behind you and used the tow to gain on the car he was trying to catch. He didn't continue to argue, so I think he may have spoken out of frustration and then realized his argument didn't hold water.
Most muppets would have sent him in the chicane or previously through the left kink. You waited and got a good run. I'd be annoyed at having to go wider in T1 but I'd more grateful for you not divebombing me into a 4x and giving me a tow up the hill slightly.
That first 4x though…that was an oopsie.

What’s everyone’s opinion on what would be the “easiest” or “beginner friendly” class in multi racing here in iracing?
I think at first he had a scarry moment at the entrence of the chicane😅 , then after he was a bit sensitive! You did a proper overtake as faster class driver, nice and easy, no dive bomb. It would be different if you were lappep and in the same class.

The only time i would say you should have waited longer and been more considerate would have been last lap; he's right that you're not fighting anyone but I don't understand why he was so annoyed by this, he'd have lost way more if you'd sent it into the bustop.
As you said he would have still gotten a tow from you same as he would the guy ahead; assume these guys had been going at it for a while and stress levels were high.

Nah you did nothing wrong. The entry to the bus stop was a little scary but no harm no foul. You were polite to wait til after then anyway! Considering where you were in your race it made total sense to wait and do a risk free overtake which is what you did. He has nothing to complain about.
As for the incident at Pouhon, it was your fault technically with the whole hitting a driver from behind, but damn is it hard to race with people who brake in unexpected places, earlier, or harder than is normal!

What a cock! “Driver’s Etiquette’…. I’ve never ever heard such bollocks or anything like that in racing, virtual or real life. Regardless of multi class or single class – in any situation, if you’re much faster than the car ahead, then you’re entitled to overtake. You’d probably get the sack if you didn’t try (unless it was a team order), or a punch in the face from the driver you overtook! Check out Eddie Irvine in his Jordan un-lapping himself against Ayrton Senna at Suzuka ‘93 😂

You were in the right. Period. You were considerate, even, and only overtook him when it wasn't going to affect his race.
Nothing wrong with what you did but I can see why he got annoyed, he just shouldn’t have directed it at you, that’s multi class racing mate, sometimes you benefit and sometimes you lose out.. you already were patient at the busy stop
A clip from this video showed up on Instagram and I thought I was having deja vu because I knew I’d heard this conversation somewhere. I’ve been doing this race all week so I was trying to find this session in my results to see if I was in it, but turns out it was from watching Basic Ollie’s stream from 3 days ago 😅 (at 4:54:54). Figured it was odd because I’m in bottom splits. 😂Anyways, you did nothing wrong and interesting video!
