There are lots of things changing and being removed in the upcoming Dauntless Awakening update – December 5th. Understandably this has made a lot of people quite upset, which is why I’m making this video to ensure you that we will all be compensated and to lay every thing out clearly.

The Middleman and the following cells are being removed: Aetheric Attunement, Aetheric Evasion, Bloodless, Conditioning, Fleet Footed, Impulse, Invigorated, Mender, Rage, Shellshock Resist, and Zeal. In addition, all Cells are now +1 only, as they become more of a supporting part of the perk economy. REMEMBER cells will destroyed when replaced, so choose your cells wisely!

Lanterns, any lantern with unique effects have been removed from the game, as has lantern crafting, with many of the effects moved to be part of our new weapons. Any gameplay lanterns previously crafted will be available as Transmogs, and any Transmog Stones spent on these lanterns will be refunded.

The Reforging system is also being retired, but to honor all of the Reforges slayers have completed there will be two crowns available to claim:
– Crest of the Reforged for Slayers who Reforge each weapon type once
– Crest of the Committed for Slayers who have Reforged at least 70 times, across any weapon type.

Armour and Weapons will also be changing quite drastically:
The Skullforge, Prismatic Grace, and Tragic Echo will be removed and all Slayers that already have these unlocked will have them unlocked as Transmogs, and any Transmog Stones spent on these items will be refunded.

Legendary weapons excluding: The Godhand, Molten Edict, The Hunger, Twins Suns, The Silver Sword and Golden Claws will be removed:
– Slayers who have already unlocked and power surged these weapons will automatically have theirs leveled up to an equivalent level.

Some currencies are also being removed, mainly: Aetherdust, Aethersparks, Aetherhearts, Chronostones, and Cache Coins will all be retired

There will also be downtime for these changes to take affect between 3rd and 5th December just in time for the update.

  1. i hope they add a way to still upgrade weapons and armor to the max just take it to the smiths and have boxes then upgrade and each upgrade needs parts from each version to fully max out and cost a lots of rams like as in example

    gnasher sword
    upgrade parts needed: ragetail gnasher
    upgrade parts needed chilled gnasher
    upgrade parts needed flameborn gnasher
    Max out

  3. This is very strange to do. Nearly all weapons removed? Lanterns are gone, and cells aren’t even THAT important to a build anymore? It’s just odd, it feels like they’re removing a bunch of stuff h that can make each people’s builds unique. Just feels like a huge bottleneck of freedom. I was hopeful for the new updates, but reading the changes through the in game mail felt like a flashbang.

  4. I haven't touched the game since it fully launched on Epic, played a ton in closed Alpha/Beta.
Excited to jump in again now that it's gonna launch on Steam, luckily I won't know what I'll be missing out on since I missed out on years of content.

  5. I’m honestly a fan of this update, it feels like the devs are trying to cut through the min-max adjacent slog that older dauntless had at high levels. Plus more uniqueness in weapons is always a win!
